Never Give Up - Be Tenacious and Persevere

May 20th 2012 was my 59th birthday. I have vowed to go roaring into 60, so I have started a year-long project to get optimally fit.
I have been carrying extra weight for a long long time now. I was thin until my 40's then developed hypothyroidism and reached almost 200 lbs. Once I got the proper treatment I lost 30 lbs in 6 months but have not been able to achieve my pre-illness weight.
(not from lack of trying) In addition to hypothyroidism, I have developed Celiac disease. These darn autoimmune diseases run in packs!

I still would like to reach my pre-illness weight, but more than that I want to be as healthy as I can be for as long as I can be. Daily exercize and eating healthy are essential to this I believe. My chosen exercize is T-Tapp and my Middle Eastern dance group. My mandatory diet is Gluten-free. I also tend to feel better and do better at weight loss if I moderate my carbs.

I will be weighing weekly and measuring monthly and blogging at intervals.

My Goals:
I would like to get down to my pre-illnes weight, which was 140. I would like to develop a daily exercize habit. I would like to become a better cook and learn to make delicious gluten free meals.

My Program:
Track all my food, aiming for under 100 gm of carbs a day - under 1600 calories. Set a goal of doing the T-Tapp bwo+ daily. Walk the dog for at least 30 minutes a day, weather permitting.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. emoticon

I completely agree - fat free sour cream is gross. Low fat I can do, but fat free? Ew. Makes you wonder what IS in that container, doesn't it?

Have a geat weekend! Hope I "see" you again soon! emoticon emoticon

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I don't understand how there can be such a vast difference between bmr's on different sites. I'm going to stay right here :)
Have a great weekend!
