I am so happy to see you will use the diabetes challenge. It started the month I joined Spark and so just like you I did it. My favourite things to use are resistance bands. You can take them anywhere and used them watching the video. It gave me great biceps and lost weight in my upper body first. The leg exercises were TOUGH at first but now I can do them better now my thighs are more muscular. I bought my band at Wal-Mart GOLD'S GYM brand, they were $15.00 and they were worth it to me. you can do it you just have to learn how and Spark people like myself will help you to get there. You are doing great. Getting to the gym is a great idea that is just part of the healthy living weight loss issue.
I am much older than you are and struggled just like you are doing now. I tried everything and My Dr sent me to a medical center specializing in weight loss and people with eating disorders. That specialist Dr. said eating so little you will never lose weight so just learn to live with yourself. I was amazed and so was my Dr
I had always been athletic and wanted so much to be at least overweight instead of OBESE at 225 pounds and 5'4" Then I found the Spark Book and read it at Barnes and Noble and bought one and one for our sons too.they are not overweight but they read them and refer to them, they will not do Spark though. I never had a computer. I read the book I was given an old computer by our son. Now I am 172 and so much happier and HEALTHIER, I got type Diabetes and needed medication but not now I keep it in control by eating RIGHT. I take no medications at all.
PORTION control is the key. I measured my food at first now I can easily serve the right amount. EATING THE RIGHT FOOD is something else I never knew. Eating whole grains instead of white processed flour, Brown rice instead of white and whole wheat pasta really helps. Those three are usually eaten in excess so switch and measure the serving, it will surprise you it did me. Eat lots of fruit vegetables and drink plenty of fluids preferably WATER. No soda and even more important NO DIET ANYTHING. Diet sweetener makes me and many others crave carbohydrates. Carbo hydrate is the food our brain uses so do not think they are bad they are very bad if you eat way too many, chips, ice cream and whit processed food. That puts so many dieters off track. Eat the fruit but DITCH the artificial sweeteners.
You are getting GOOD SLEEP You are exercising and now fix the food by TRACKING. If you are pre-DIABETIC use the diabetic tracker and there is a pre-diabetic team.
Diabetes is not obvious, at first there is no pain or obvious symptoms but later in life it is an awful disease so please look to your future to begin a healthy living lifestyle.
