NOLAHORSERIDER is a SparkPeople Motivator!
I am 64 years old. I have been married for 13 years this past February. I have 4 dogs, a cat and a horse. I joined SP July 21, 2014 and lost 37 pounds in the first six months. After this loss, I went through a gain/loss period. I will be working hard to lose the pounds I have regained during the 2016 Fall 5% Challenge. I want to feel good about myself again and get rid of this stomach.
Goals for 2016 Fall 5% Challenge:
Even though I am enduring chronic bone on bone pain in my knee and mostly my right thumb, I will continue to work on at least 5000 steps plus per day (or as many as my knees allow), taking it one day at a time. In addition, I will aim to walk at least 10 mins. consecutively, every day and work on consistency with menus.
I know I can do this with the help of my SparkFriends.
1. Measure and track everything I eat.
2. Walk at least 5,000 steps plus every day.
3. Exercise at least 30 minutes per day (in 10 min. increments).
4. Add more veggies and fruit to meals.
5. Drink at least 8 to 12 glasses of water every day.
6. Keep exercises fun.
7. Be healthier and be able to buy smaller clothes
8. Feel Good about myself
9. Try new recipes or revamp old ones
10. Praise God
My diet will be to eat within 1200 to 1400 calories every day, utilizing spark recipes and adding more veggies and fruit to my meals.
I will consume 8 to 12 glasses of water every day.
My Exercise program will consist of resistance bands, walking and farm chores and exercise bike. I will use resistance bands and dumb bells for strength training along with planking. I love my Wii fit U and Walk it Out and will utilize them as cardio exercises.
I Love riding my horse, Charlie Brown, I love my fur babies, reading, most music, playing my Ukulele, and working out.
3/7/15 Today I am starting another chapter. I am starting Maintenance. My weight today is 134.7. This is going to be a great journey, I can feel it! :D

Hi! That's cute about Charlie! He sounds like a real sweetie! I remember a friend of mine lived on her family's farm, and they had one of those kitchen doors where the top half opened separately from the bottom half. In the summer mornings sometimes they'd let the horses out on their property when they had to do something in the paddocks, and they would open the top half of the door, and the horses would come up and stick their heads in the kitchen door opening! It was so funny to be sitting there having a cup of coffee or something at the table with 2 big horse heads poking through the door looking at you!

Awww, that sounds awesome! I love horses. Nothing else I did ever felt as wonderful as heading out into nature with a horse friend... gosh, I loved riding whether I was walking or cantering (or galloping). A neighbor of mine owns several horses down the road from me, and whenever I take my walks, I always stop to say hello. They know me too... nicker at me when I come up, come over to the fence when I show up. Such sweeties and so beautiful. I agree with you.. love the cooler weather, and that was always my favorite time to ride too, in the Fall. Enjoy your week, and give Charlie a scratch and hug from me!
