Hi there! Welcome to the 10k Steps a Day Team!

Mandy posted your pedometer question on our chat thread, so I thought I'd give you my opinions!

I wouldn't get one of the super cheap pedometers. I went through 3-4 of the $10 or less ones in less than 6 months. Spend a bit more and you'll be glad you did!

The first "nice" one I bought was an Omron HJ-720ITC. Here's the link: http://www.omronhealthcare.com/products/hj
-720itc/. It's a little on the pricey side, but it comes with some great bells & whistles. You can download the info to your computer to keep track of your steps. It worked great until I wore it into the pool last summer. I think it'll still work, but I gotta replace the battery! This one tracks 30 days worth of steps and allows you to see the past 7 days on the display.

The pedometer I'm currently using was given to me by my health insurance company. It's also an Omron (seeing a theme?!). It's the Omron HJ-150. Here's the link for that one: http://www.omronhealthcare.com/products/hj
-150/. This one tracks 7 days worth of steps. It's pretty easy to set up. I really like it.

I have looked all through your profile and cannot find anything that would let me know if you are male or female. If you are male...please disregard the following information. But if you are female...please enjoy the following "where do I wear my pedometer" tip.

TIP - Most information will tell you to clip the pedometer on your waste band on the side of your body. Another Sparkmember (I can't for the life of me remember who) posted once that she clips the pedometer on her bra between her boobies. That's where I have been wearing mine and it works great. You don't have to worry about it falling off when you go to the restroom. It does track accurately (I wore 2 pedometers for a day to check). And as long as you have on a thicker shirt or a dark color shirt...no one will know!

Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any other questions about anything!
