Hello SparkWorld!

Update April 2011:

The winter is almost over and the sun is coming out! Time for some spring Sparkpage cleaning.

My name is Katie and I am a Jersey girl born and raised. I have 2 younger brothers that I love, one is in college in Connecticut while the other is going to a local school at home and enjoys it. My mom works in real estate and my dad is a high school teacher and just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Currently I live with them and we are trying to have better habits in the house so we can lose weight together! That means no more chips and cookies in the cupboards and more time to hit the gym and cook together.
I work in NYC as a Legal Secretary and love the people I work with. Once a week I play coed volleyball with ZogSports, a wonderful organization that donates to a charity of our choice if/when we win the championship. I joined a 24 Hour Fitness only a block away from my job, and fell in love with the classes offered- Spinning, Kickboxing, Yoga, and Lifting.
Over this winter I became a Ninja and met the most amazing women to share in this journey. Now begins the next chapter with BLC 16 and all the life challenges that come with it. Looking forward to a great spring and summer!

From December 2010-
I discovered my love for running earlier in the year, and completed my first half marathon in Virginia Beach with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program. It was a great experience because it proved that I really could lose some weight and have 'me' time training for something that seemed so impossible just three months ago. I am thinking about training for the full marathon, this time in San Diego in June! Hopefully that will give me motivation for the next 6 months to eat healthy and to make the investment for myself.

I watch the Biggest Loser and love the changes I see every season on the contestants. I want to be that happy and confident 30 pounds lighter and lovng myself. I know everyone here does too and I am looking forward to meeting new friends and enjoying the journey!
