The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan: accessible writing on the sources of our food, organics farming methods and the unfortunate prevalence of processed corn in our diets. "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."

The End of Over Eating by David Kessler: describes how people, places and environment influence our eating habits. Also delves into the mysteries of food science and marketing and their influence our preferences for taste and quantity.

The Eat Clean Diet - Tosca Reno: taken at face value - not to the extreme - good basic principles on "eating clean"

emoticon yes, I am speaking from experience, although it's a long time since my DH tried to lose weight so I've not got that excuse at the moment!

What up, Pup?! Is this trip to AK a recent thing? Heck, yeah, you're an athlete! No couch potato ever climbed that high!!

All is well here, but I'm being a slacker, as you can see from my fluffy profile picture. At this instant I am home alone and it would be the perfect time to take a walk, yet here I sit at the computer, gazing wistfully at the wine cabinet. Not gonna do it, though, what with all the inspiration I have gleaned over here from your page. Off I go!
