re-affirming my goals - turned 60 and ready to trim down
I'm now 60--- quit smoking for my 50th birthday- the best present I could have ever given myself. I gained the typical 20 pounds they say you gain when you quit smoking. . Those 20 new pounds are right around my mid section and 9 years later they are still with me. I realize that while I have learned alot here on SP - am aware of so much more and have developed some new great healthy habits - I have to be brave enough CHANGE. I cannot read and type my way to weight loss. Glad ...

I have opened up my food tracker and fitness pages for public vewing ---- sharing my life will lead to learning more about everyone's experience on the path to fitness. Comment on anything you see. Im just now entering a new phase of life. I have retired from a 35 year career.. This means i get to decide what i want to be when i grow up.................... trim and fit is definitely on that list.
Thanks for the great comment on my blog! And I'll take you up on that double dare. :-)
I do understand the scale number is not the most important thing. Heck, it's one of the things I preach. :-) But when I saw my clothes getting tighter and I was having a hard time finding motivation to pull myself up by my boot straps and make them un-tight, it was time to get on the scale and face the music. Sometimes seeing the numbers is a motivating force in and of itself.
Thanks for remembering me. Yes, I am well; pretty busy these days just keeping up with family, animals etc. This morning I'm packing for a little vacation to the beach. I don't want to go but dh says he really needs a vacation...away. His office is here in the house so I guess that is what he's vacationing away from. I really don't want to go; I'm happy and relaxed here and I worry about all my furry and feathered kids. My DIL will be coming to take care of them but still, I worry. The older I get the less interested I am in something like a "vacation". Takes too much work to make it happen and there's enough work already in my nearly 67 year old life LOL!!
Maybe I need to let loose of a few things, eh?
Blessings to you my sparkfriend. I hope you are well too. I understand about getting rid of that middle section of extra pounds. Took me over a year to loose 6 pounds and then I just stopped losing. I'd like to lose another 5 but it might not happen. Okay, I says to myself, I'm a squishy grandma now. Everything's good! Hugs to you, Annie
Life is good and thanks for your friendship NJ. Been hot and humid so far this summer and I'm spending a lot more time indoors. Got a new dog now a male Cairn Terrier, he's 6 months old now and a very energetic little terror.....LOL I'm working around the house, keeping things going and using the computer a lot. I started reading some again on a new Kindle reader that I got a year ago on birthday . I hope you're doing well, hugs, RW
I wasn't in AC, I was in OC, NJ. Close enough I suppose since I traveled on the OC Pkwy to get there.
If you give me your email addy on my private page I can forward the flier to you when it's ready, about the conference weekend.
Ten years is so marvelous. Look at these stats for me, with over 13 years. (And with cigarette prices so high now, who knows how much money I really didn't waste?)
