changing my goals - turning 60 and ready for middle age(?)
I'm now 59--- quit smoking for my 50th birthday- the best present I could have ever given myself. I gained the typical 20 pounds they say you gain when you quit smoking. . Those 20 new pounds are right around my mid section and 9 years later they are still with me. I realize that while I have learned alot here on SP - am aware of so much more and have developed some new great healthy habits - I have to be brave enough CHANGE. I cannot read and type my way to weight loss. Glad ...

I cannot read and type my way to weight loss. Glad to be here making online friends to learn from, encourage and celebrate success with. I have opened up my food tracker and fitness pages for public vewing ---- sharing my life will lead to learning more about everyone's experience on the path to fitness. Comment on anything you see. Im just now entering a new phase of life. I have retired from a 35 year career.. This means i get to decide what i want to be when i grow up.................... trim and fit is definitely on that list. .......... Now to just do it !

My Goals:
Lose another 15 pounds........... mostly in the lower body area - belly and legs. I know what I have to do and how it has to be done......... so now to just do it..:)
My Program:
Keep calories low in carbs and at the low end of my range 6 days per week. run/walk at least 19 miles per week and bike ride 20 miles per week get to the gym for strength training 3 times per week
Personal Information:
I am 2 months away from turning 60 years old................. 5'3" 137 pounds with a 38 inch waist.......... yep its all right in my belly. Co-Leader for the +50 witgh 10-24 pounds to lose team. Leader of the Official NJ Sparkteam
Other Information:
Reach inside and find the strength that enabled me to quit smoking. Use that inner strength to get this body into the shape I want. This is 75% health minded and 25% plain vanity. I want to look great.
