Here I go again!!

I am now 53 and back up on the scale again. I had gotten down to 175 and was a size 12 -- something I haven't seen since high school. I had to have an emergency hysterectomy November 2012 and since then I have gained 60 pounds. I have already had one scare with breast cancer and now another scare with uterian cancer. I know that being over weight only adds to the chances of eventually not being so lucky. I have finally found a doctor who agrees that things are out of balance and has ...

I have finally found a doctor who agrees that things are out of balance and has started me on a regime of replacements. I am being diligent, weighing all my food and logging everything I eat. Still very little success. Hoping things will work out soon.

My Goals:
1 - Work with the doctor to stabilize my hormones so I can lose weight.
2 - Start exercising again.
3 - Weigh and measure my food and stay within the guidelines calculated so I meet my goal.
4 - Not get discouraged. Realize this is going to take some time.

My Program:
Just following the diet challenges here and adding exercise at least five days a week.

Other Information:
I would like to live a more healthy lifestyle and reduce my risk of cancer. I've already had two scares and do not want to have a different outcome in the future.

In order to obtain this goal I will stay focused and start to exercise again. I will work up to going to the gym Monday - Friday on my way to work. I will stay within my calorie range and make sure I drink my water -- which is not always easy for me. I am working toward eating healthy but for right now, my goal is to just stay within my calorie range and get exercise.

Hey, that's right! We both have lighthouse photos (Psst...check our Mimi's lighthouse photo) Mine was taken in Maine. We go on a camping trip every summer with a group of friends and have a blast.

Your wedding picture is so great. You look ravishing! Looks like we have a terrific group for fall term. Lots of support and activity. This should be fun. Stay off those cigs. I smoked briefly in college, but still remember how hard it was to stop. That was back when one could smoke inthe office. Oh, I am old. Have always been glad I quit. Best of wishes for you.
