Fighting the good fight.

My name is Anissa, and I am not what most Americans would consider overweight. This is the problem. I AM overweight for my height (and trust me, when I started it WASN'T muscle, no chance of that) and suddenly I realized I don't have to accept getting heavier as I get older. I always thought it was a standard thing, like wrinkles. But it doesn't have to be. I'm training myself not to accept that, that it's ok to want to lose weight even if I'm not visibly overweight, that it's ok to not accept ...

Update: 9/11/12
It's funny how far I've come in goals in 4 years. Back in February of this year, for example, I was at my goal weight. Now I'm 8 pounds over and trying to get it back off again. For the first time, I'm facing the common frustration of making healthy choices and seeing no changes in the scale. This is new to me, and somewhat irritating.

Nevertheless, I'm going to keep at it. Work out more....eat less. And hope that lifestyle changes and gradual weight loss will help it stick!

My Goals:
I want to get down to between 120 and 125 pounds. This is scary for me, since I weighed 130 through college, and I feel like getting down below that might be impossible. But I will continue to live a healthier life, and let my weight do what it will.

My Program:
I'm walking on the treadmill at work for 30 - 45 minutes a day, as well as working out at home with a buddy 2 - 3 times a week. I'm also making an effort to control my calories, although I love food and I find it difficult not to go over my calorie goals a few times a week.

Welcome back...sounds like you have some good plans. I'm preparing to jump back on the wagon as well. I've lost a little ground in the past couple of months since I started my new job...but I'll make it up!
