If not now, then when?

I'm 78 years old and determined to lose the excess weight that has plagued me for many years. I live in New Mexico and love it here! I have a daughter, a son-in-law, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons all living in the same town here in NM, as well as two sisters and a brother. In addition, I have a great-granddaughter living in Texas How's that for having a family worth living well for? I love life! Nina

I am so sorry for the loss of your husband. And, yes, I know Las Cruces well. I have been there many times and it is a very nice place. I am glad you are near family as they are an incredible support for us "old" folks.

Stay safe, my friend.

I'm so sorry about your husband. I didn't know. Mimbres is a difficult place to live when you are older, alone, and far away from a lot of emergency services. I work with elderly and disabled on some Medicaid programs for people who get in-home services, and I've had a few clients out in that area. It's a beautiful area and a great place to live but it does have it's drawback. Grant county in general does. They promote it as a retirement community which is great for healthy retirees, but as time goes on and they decline there just aren't enough resources that they need here. I've seen it happen a lot. I do remember you. One of the few people from this area that I know on SP. Maybe there are some I haven't found yet. I hope things are going well for you in Las Cruces.

Yes, I'm the one who lives in Silver City. Are you still out at Mimbres or did you move away? At least I thought that was where you lived. Maybe I'm wrong. Good to see you posting on here again. Hope this year bring you a lot of success with your goals.

Happy Thursday!
Sounds like you are going to have a very busy holiday with lots of family. Our family is small now. I have a married daughter and son-in-law and a divorced daughter and me. Very few people but each of us has a cat and dog, so - they outnumber us. Because we don't have children we can spend more on charities. We gift the Senior Center wish tree, the Women and Children Shelter, the Homeless Night Shelter and our local Humane Society. We enjoy that a bunch!!
I know you will have a wonderful Christmas! Hugs, Nancy
