Welcome! I know... there is TONS of information on here! It is VERY overwhelming! Just stick to the basics. For me, that initially meant tracking my food and reading the daily articles. Blogging is great too. About 6 weeks in I started to track exercise too, but that was too overwhelming at first.
I have read a couple of times, I'm not sure where, that it takes 4 weeks for you to start to see the changes in yourself (loose clothing, probably a couple of pounds of consistent loss), 8 weeks for loved ones to notice, and 12 weeks for the average colleague to notice (like, it's starting to get obvious!) This is, of course, if you're consistent and not yo-yo-ing. It could be that this whole thing is false, but it's what I keep telling myself as I reach the 8 or 9 week mark. I am really hoping to see long-term lifestyle change, so that's what I need to believe!
