You Can't Take the Sky From Me

I haven't updated this in a while so here goes. I started Spark People when I was approximately 175 pounds. I was 28 and recently divorced. I gained a lot of weight during my marriage due to being unhappy and depressed. Most of my time was spent either working two jobs or laying in bed hiding from the world.

I am 30 and I am down to 155 pounds. I am working one job, in therapy, and in great relationship with someone. I am making my life better but I still need to be healthier and fitter. I still struggle with exercise and healthy eating. That's what I'm here for.

Goal Weight/Rewards
150 - Pedicure
145 - Leather pants
140 - Caribbean Cruise. It's booked for this November so I hope to make it to this weight.

My Goals:
Even though my main goal is to lose weight I want also learn to like myself no matter what size I am.

I'd also love to do a mini-triathlon eventually.

Goal Weight 130
Run a 5k in 35 min

My Program:
I don't have set program just yet. I'm trying to just keep track of my calories and workout once or twice a week to start. I want to eventually work out 5 times a week but I know if I do put that pressure on myself I'll bail so I'm starting slow.

Personal Information:
Live in Michigan, want to move south one day.

Thanks for the blog comment! I haven't been to the Y near my home in years, so I'll have to check it out and see what kind of shape it's in. The one that I go to near work has very limited times available for lap swimming, and they're not at all convenient for when I can go to that one!
Sometimes just not going backwards is an accomplishment all by itself!

Haha no no this is kind of like Shakeology, but from what I've heard, it's better. You still have to eat healthy and exercise alongside it, it's not one of those "Take this pill and you don't have to diet or exercise and you'll lose 100 pounds by tomorrow!"

Yesterday was my first day following it, and I actually felt GREAT!!! Shake for breakfast (orange cream and I added fresh strawberries) and shake for lunch (cookies and cream), then had a huge healthy dinner (baked chicken with brown rice, sweet peas, and a salad). During the day I had my healthy snacks. And lots of water of course. But I felt great! I didn't feel super starving, just mild hunger (my stomach has to shrink again). Today is day 2, and I hope it goes just as smooth!

Its a food program, kinda? Meal replacement shakes, but it has SO much more than that to offer. Today was my first day doing it (2 shakes a day for weight loss, plus snacks and your big meal) and I feel awesome! TONS of energy!
