For real this time!

For the past year (or maybe 32) I have been saying I need to lose this weight. I did back in 8th grade, but it came back and then some. Now I'm 32. It's time to do this!! I used this website some before and felt the food tracker was very helpful (but hard to look at when you're not really committed. So here I am again, and ready to make it work!

My Goals:
I would like to lose 70 pounds by January 1, 2011. I don't want this to be a diet, I want to make this a healthy lifestyle that I am able to stick with forever. Seeing people my age get cancer and other illnesses has really put things in perspective. I have a great man in my life and I want to get old with him!

My Program:
My plan is to eat healthier which will involve consuming between 1500 and 1800 calories a day and drastically cut down on eating out (which I currently do at least 7-9 times a week!) I plan to start walking at least 30 minutes 3 times a week and doing 10-15 minute strength workouts on the other nights.

Personal Information:
I'm a 32 year old who has been the "fat girl" my whole life. I lost 40 pounds in 8th grade and was so proud of myself (I think I got down to 160!) but gained it all back and then some. I've been saying I needed to lose weight seriously for the past 2 years and have started many new diets but never stuck with them. This time, I'm sticking!!

Hey, I was thinking about you today & decided to stop by your page...How have things been going? I have been at a stand-still for the last 4 months because of school. I've been stuck at 173, only working out 2-3 times per week. Thankfully I haven't GAINED anything back, so I guess I'm not doing completely terrible. I planned to work out hardcore over my break between semesters, but unfortunately I've been feeling sick for most of it.

I feel bad we never worked out together before I left for Surg Tech school. emoticon I'll be back in Manhattan (to stay) in mid-July, so if you're still interested we can get together then!

I'm following the nutrition advice in Extreme Fat Smash by Ian Smith. You eat 4 small meals per day, up to 2 snacks if you want them. It's a lot like what I would call a diabetic diet. Lots of fruits & veggies, brown rice, egg whites, lean meat, everything low GI.

Hey! Looks like you're still doing great. I stopped Sparking for about a month & now I'm getting back on the wagon... I didn't gain anything back but I sure didn't lose either. What kind of nutrition program are you following?

Sounds good. I live on the East side of town. What apartments are you in?

We watch all our TV on Hulu. They have some good workouts on there, though. 45 min walks would be good.

Congrats on the 30 lbs! So what did the doctor tell you to do for your knee?
