June 15, 2010...
Since joining sparkpeople, I lost about 20 lbs and I've since plateaued. I've decided to up my game considering I'm getting married 11/27/10. I'm going to log my weight on Spark at least once a week. Hopefully recommitting to weight loss and health pays off!

**UPDATE**6/24/11
I finally feel that I have made a lifestyle change. I don't WANT to eat crappy food. I don't WANT to "cheat" on my workout. Kate Moss came under fire for saying "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." To a certain extent, I would agree with her. However, I would edit that to, "nothing tastes as good as HEALTHY feels." When I slip up and eat like garbage, I'm doing my body a disservice. I'm not perfect by any means. When people ask me how I lost all this weight, I have to tell them that EVERYDAY I make decisions to eat well and exercise. Someone once told me, "your body craves what you put into it." Boy, have I found that to be true. Who wound have ever thought I would say, "I really need some vegetables right now." I'm 3 years into my journey, and I set new goals all the time. The best part of achieving a 50 pound weight loss is that you feel like you can accomplish almost anything! Nose to grindstone!

My goal is to feel good and look good while going about in the healthiest way possible! A personal goal right now is to look and feel great in a bathing suit this summer.

When it comes to food I keep it as organic as possible. I eat lots of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, greek yogurt, chicken, turkey, and fish.

I'm 5'9. I feel like everyone should make sure their height is on their Sparkpage because how tall you are has a lot to do with figuring out a healthy weight.

    That was my worry about Women's Health. I don't think it's a bad thing that they include that other stuff in the magazine; it's just not what I need from it. I think I'm going to check out a bookstore so that I can compare them all. Thanks for your help!

    Ripped in 30 was great. BFBM doesn’t use weights so that’s really the big difference between the two. I usually do go to the gym (either treadmill or bike) when I am doing the dvd’s as well. I think these half hour videos are really good addition to any cardio you are already doing , or using them as your work out is good without extra cardio is good too. good luck with ripped in 30 !

    Recovery week..it sounds easy but not as much as one would think right??:) Month 2 is def bringing it..more so just length of the workout. Did you see another Insanity is coming out soon? Some people like to mix in P90X that want more true strength workouts-all what works for YOU!
    I hear you on the warmer weather..we keep getting teased here in Iowa. I hope it just comes and stays!:)
    Yes I do the Shakeology! I honestly tried it about 2 years ago thinking oh I won't like it but some people I trusted with nutrition used it. I am SO glad I did..LOVE it!     So how is Insanity going? Yes I think you do deserve a spa day if you make it through 60 days:) BTW..his follow up to it comes out in April I think. Let me know if you want info and I'll get you on the list!
    As far as P90X..it's more of a strength based program whereas Insanity is more cardio based. So you'll do a lot more true strength workouts. Some people like to combine the 2 approaches..which I can help with. The trainer is totally different too-total goof ironically!
    Weekend plans? Warming up in MI?
