Hello, My Name is: FabuLESS!
Hello! My name is Niki and I am 26 years young. I married my best friend on 6.28.08 and on 9.7.10, we welcomed our first child into the world- a son named Carter Jayce. When I got pregnant, I weighed in at 160lbs. Being 5'2", that technically classified me as obese. It was disheartening. 9 months later I tipped the scale at 200 lbs..a number I never thought I would see in my life. If it hadn't been for my little miracle growing inside of me, I would have hit rock bottom. Within a month after ...
Within a month after delivering my son, I had lost all but approximately 8-10 lbs of "preggo weight".
Once I was released from my doctor, I quickly switched to weightloss mode. I soon realized that my body was junk. I couldn't do anything without being winded and worn out. I didn't like it. So, I reassessed EVERYTHING. I knew first and foremost that I had to come back to Spark. I couldn't do it alone..and I honestly didn't want to. I logged in and instantly felt secure. I was even surprised to see some of my old SP friends still active after 2 years. I was home.
I started out small. The weather was perfect for outdoor activities. Fall was really just beginning here. I loaded up Carter in his stroller and we set out together. Everyday. I walked and walked, changing up my route each day to keep it exciting. Somedays we would go to the park and walk the track. It felt good to be moving again. Each day it got easier..and I could increase my distance. Walking was such a stress reliever. Just me and my thoughts..and Carter got in a good nap with fresh air.
On June 21, 2011, I hit my goal weight- 130 pounds. The feeling was euphoric, I couldnít believe I had ACTUALLY stuck with it and made it to a 42 pound weight loss in under a year. I knew it was time to switch to maintenance. Little did I know that 6 months later, maintenance would go completely out the window. It started with just a pound, then two. Before I knew it I had gained 9 pounds back. NINE. I was devastated. If that wasn't hard enough to handle, let's fast forward to a year and half later when I had gained almost all my weight back. That NINE pounds I was upset about in June.... well now I am NINE pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, and NOT in a good way.
After a lot of failed restarts at kicking this weight off, I am back, and taking baby steps. And I keep telling myself that this is a brand new journey, not a sequel to the one before. I have to tackle this like I have never lost weight before.... Watch me do this!

ONE POUND OF FAT
Hello! Do you know me? If you don't, you should.
I am ONE POUND OF FAT, and I am the happiest pound of FAT that you would ever want to meet!
Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me! After all, I am only ONE POUND OF FAT. Just ONE POUND.
Everyone wants to lose 3 or 5 or 15 pounds, but never ONLY one. So, I just stick around and happily keep you.
Then I am free to add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice... That is, until I have grown to 10, 20 or even 30 pounds in weight... YES... it is fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT... left to do just as I please.
So, when you weigh in, go ahead... just keep on saying, "Oh I only lost one pound." (As if that is so terrible.)
For you see, if you do this, you will encourage others to hang around me because they will think that I am not worth losing.
And I LOVE being around you... your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips, and every other part of you. HAPPY DAYS!
After all, I am ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!
