Hey! Thanks for checking out my page. Here is a little about me:

I signed up on Sparkpeople about 5 years ago, and have been active on the site on and off. I am a serial yo-yo dieter. I know how bad that is for my health, and I've resolved to make it a lifestyle change rather than just a "diet". I got down to my goal weight back in 2008, which now seems like so long ago. I know how bad that is for my health, and I've resolved to make it a lifestyle change rather than just a "diet". I got down to my goal weight back in 2008, which now seems like so long ago. I know I have what it takes to be healthy, I've done it before, I just need to make it last this time.

My goal is to lose about 40 pounds in total and to gain muscle mass so that I can have that lean figure I admire in other girls at the gym. I plan to work out daily and to plan my meals the day before to make sure I get all the nutrients my body needs.

My Goals:
Short Term:

To get down to 130-135 by the beginning of April, when I will hopefully be going to Cuba!


Long Term:

To achieve fitness and lifestyle habits that will help me achieve a healthy body for life.

My Program:
I'm doing Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution. I'm following the workouts diligently, but I'm having a hard time using her meal plan. Some of the ingredients required are hard to find and I like cooking things I already have in the house. Also, it makes a lot of food for just me!

Personal Information:
I'm a special education teacher and I love my job and the students I get to see every day. My work really is my passion.

Hi! Thanks for your advice on the SparkDiet. How much time do you usually spend planning your food for the next day? Right now it seems daunting to me to try to balance all those nutrients! How long have you been doing it? It's a great idea, I just don't know if I'm ready for it. Babysteps...maybe I'll start just trying to balance carbs, protein and fat, and go from there. When that becomes 'easy', I'll add in something else.
I am thinking I'll try to plan my meals out on the weekends, for the whole week...of course, allowing for potential adjustments. But that will help me with grocery shopping and I think I'll feel less overwhelmed if I do all the planning in one session, rather than try to do it daily. :)
