Well, I first joined Sparkpeople over 2 years ago because I wanted to get in shape for my wedding. I did manage to get within 5 pounds of my goal and reach my lowest weight in 15 years. I was wearing a size 6 jean and everyone thought that I looked great. Except for me.

I have always had a negative body image and I could not look past that little bulge at my tummy or those last 5 pounds that I could not get off. I got frustrated and started to stray from all of the good habits I had painstakingly built. Good-bye veggies and exercise - hello chips and soda. My weight started creeping back at the rate of about 1 pound per month, which was slow enough that I could rationalize myself into believing that it wasn't that bad.

This past January I had a miscarriage that sent me into a depression. I never thought of myself as an emotional eater, but there is no other way to explain the 25 pounds that I have put on since then. Some days I would not eat at all. The next I would stuff myself with as much junk as I could get my hands on. And the only thing I felt like doing was playing games on my computer, which means almost no activity whatsoever.

All of this has only made me feel even worse about myself. My husband and I just went on a business trip and I had to go buy new "fat" clothes, because I couldn't get away with sweats and t-shirts. Trying on a size 12 that barely fit, was my wake-up call to get my butt back to Sparkpeople and all of the positive people on this site. All of my old friends are gone, but I look forward to meeting many new ones as I get myself back on track.

I want to start exercising regularly and eating a healthier diet, without falling back into an all or nothing mentality.

I would like to reach and maintain a weight between 140-145 lbs.


My Program:
*Exercise at least 30 minutes daily.

*Eat between 1600 and 1800 calories a day

*40% Carbs, 35%
protein, 25% fat

*Eat every 3 hours.

*Twice a month, give myself a splurge day.

*Drink 8 glasses of water daily.

*Take my vitamins and supplements daily.
