UPDATE 11-30-2011 : as of today, I have lost a total of 57 lbs... and have been having bouts of "hills" and "valleys" with focusing on my goal... I am maintaining... but still have the last bit of weight to loose. I'm still here and fighting myself to get back to the the basics... which are tracking calories! I will get to my goal!!!

Hi there! I'm Nicole and I am a 37 year old mom of a 17 year old, and wife to my best friend. I have battled with my weight since the birth of my daughter. I have gone from 149 to 235 pounds in the past 16 years. I have tried Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Curves, and Slim-Fast. Each time i lost 20+ pounds, but then gained it all back. My goal is to loose 60 pounds by next spring and keep it off! Hubby and I would like to have a baby, and I believe if I drop some weight and get healthy, it would benefit that.

My Goals:
My goal is to start out small and work my way up to a regular routine. Would like to be a healty 166 lbs... but will start out with a smaller goal to loose 7lbs to be under 220.

Starting out on 3/17/2010 at 226lbs

My Program:
I take walks at lunch time that is about 1.5 mile. I wear a pedometer and my goal to get 7,000 steps a day.. some days I get over 12,000 a day.

Eventually I will start riding my bike to kick up a notch in the exercise.

I also had a suspicion that my caloric allowance may be a tad high, particularly with the new changes that attempted to link my exercise level with the amount of calories allowed for the day. Based on the formula you provided the BMR range suggested for me by SP is anywhere from 16 to 366 calories more than what I need, which could have a huge impact on my efforts to slim down. I thank you for validating my instinct

Maybe this sounds silly.... but I never thought of it in that way before... so, correct me if I am wrong, but are you looking to have a -500 cal each day? Say a no workout day, you eat in a range of 1200-1500. You aim to burn 500 each day (?) Making a 3500 cal over the week (which is a TON of exercise!!! WOA!!!), so then daily you try to leave a 500 deficit? I need to research this more... lol... gosh I feel dumb... lol... really. I am usually not a slow learner... but I feel s.l.o.w. in understanding this.... (embarassing!!!)
