Welcome to my page!

I'm so glad you've ended up here. And by "here" I mean both my page and sparkpeople in general. I love SparkPeople and think everyone should be on here and I'm so glad YOU made the decision to join! My sparkfriends are very dear to me and I cherish them all! I feel especially blessed by the ones I've been able to meet in person (more than 40!).

I honestly can't even tell you when I joined sparkpeople. The date on my page is wrong b/c at one point I wanted to change my spark name and thought I had to close my account and open a new one to do that. I now know better. I'd say it was sometime around 2005 or so. I wish I could say that with all of those years I made it to my goal weight, but nope I'm still working on it and I WILL get there!

I'm 5'3 and my highest weight has been 191. My lowest has been 143. I've gained and lost the same 30-50 pounds several times and I'm working hard to stop the yo-yo trend and lose weight for good. The road ahead of me may be a bit longer than I first expected, but I'm a finisher and I'll get there. I'll definitely wait for you at the finish line if I happen to get there first, but until then I'll cheer for you as we journey side by side. If you have already crossed that finish line then CONGRATS and I hope you'll be there cheering for me once I join you!

Amazing things I've learned on this journey:
1. Weight loss is all about eating right (gotta track that food!) and exercising and when I do those things I lose and when I don't I gain - shocking, right?! :-)
2. I feel my best when my nutrition and exercise are in check.
3. I've learned that sugar brings me down - makes me sluggish and a bit depressed too. I wish I could say I'm sugar-free, but I do still struggle with that - trying to work on moderation.
4. I CAN do AMAZING things that I never even dreamed about - things others have told me that I can't do and it feels great! My proudest fitness accomplishment is my sprint triathlon!

Workout videos - I have a bajillion that I like and use - Zumba, Turbo Jam, P90X, WATP, etc.

Wii fitness games - Wii Fit, Gold's Gym Cardio Boxing & Cardio Dance, EA Active & EA Active 2, Fitness Coach, Zumba, Zumba 2, Zumba Core, wii sports, Just Dance and Sports Resort are some of my many games that I really enjoy.

One should eat to live, not live to eat.

Gluttony is an emotional escape, a sign something is eating us.

If hunger is not the problem, than eating is not the solution.

You can't lose weight by talking about it. You have to keep your mouth shut.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.
