My Fitness Journey

My name is Nicole. I am 31 years old and I have been trying to lose the last of the weight gained during my 5 pregnancies. In the fall, I weighed 142, my highest non-pregnancy weight ever. Today, I weigh in at 130. I am very short (5'0") and my ideal weight is 117. My oldest daughter is 12 years old and it is important for me that I set an example of physical fitness for her and my other children. But also, at the risk of sounding self-centered, I need to do this for myself. I want to feel good ...

But also, at the risk of sounding self-centered, I need to do this for myself. I want to feel good about who I am and not give in to the ideal that as a mom I am doomed to the "mommy body."

Happy Tuesday! Hope your summer is going well. Enjoy the opportunity for outside fitness fun - hiking, swimming, gardening, etc. This is a great time of year to burn those calories outdoors!

Hey cuz! I have had a great start this week and have been on track even better than before. When I quit the nasty habit I gained back all the weight I lost plus 5 pounds. But I had to do it and now I can work on the overall health. Let me know how that new job is going. My daughter and I went on a 45 minute speed walk, 320 calories burned, felt great! emoticon
