Going to the chapel
I have always struggled with my weight. I am an "all or nothing" personality type which can really get in the way of losing weight. When I'm doing good, I'm doing really good. If I'm cheating and being bad, I'm being really bad. With that said, I am always yo-yo-ing. April 4, 2009 has been set for my wedding date. It is so important for me to look and feel my best on that date. Of course I want to look lovely, but, I am also looking at it as the start to my next phase of life. I want to ...
I want to go into my marriage with my best and healthiest foot forward. My goals between now and then are 1) achieve a weight of 135 pounds 2) have a toned and strong body 3) adapt to a permanent lifestyle of healthy living, and, 4) quit smoking! UPDATE (9/4): August went GREAT!! I did Jillian Michael's Making the Cut program and it totally rocked!! I lost a total of 12 pounds and 18 inches!! Plus, I learned a bunch about myself and healthy living. I am so happy with my results and look forward to continuing to achieve my goals! I attempted to do South Beach for September. But, I ran into a bit of trouble along the way. My sugar cravings were out of control and I wasn't losing any weight, as I had been up until that point. I thought long and hard about it and I decided that perhaps I wasn't the "ideal" SB candidate. I mean, I already know that the starchy carbs like pasta, white bread, rice, etc. are a NO NO and I've already gotten them out of my diet. Also, I already try to limit my fruit to only a couple servings a day. So, to make a long story short, I decided why try to fix something thats not broken? I totally think that SB is a great program and perfect for someone who needs a eating healthy makeover. October 2008: I've decided to make 3 year end resolutions. I have 3 full months to conquer them and I'm ready (I think I can - I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!). By the ball drops and we enter into 2009, my goals that I WILL have accomplished are: 1) complete p90x UPDATE: Will begin 90 day program on October 13th!! I will not have enough days left in the year to officially complete p90x, but, it will be close enough!! 2) Quit smoking - My doctor prescribed me Chantix (quit smoking aide). I need to pick a quit date, make a plan and get started. 3) run a 5k (actually run - no walking allowed!) - I'm following the C25K plan and am doing really well. Also, I try to run for distance after I'm through. As of now, I am running a 10 minute mile. I need to continue the interval training and build up my distance endurance. UPDATE: I have signed up for my first 5k which will be on Novemeber 16th!! I'm going to make a concerted effort everyday to focus on my 3 goals and make it happen! I want 2009 to be a great year! The latest foodwise is that I am attempting to eat 5 meals a day, including 2 servings of protein shakes as my AM & PM snacks. I'm trying to eat a big(ger) breakfast and a smaller dinner. Also, I am trying to eat any breads, fruits, oatmeals, potatoes, etc. no later than lunch time. And as always, I need to journal and count calories in my food log.... Goals along the way.... 1. 159 lbs (20 pounds lost) GOAL MET 8/15 2. 157 lbs (1/2 way there) DONE!! 3. 149 lbs (hello again 140s!) DONE!! 4. 145 lbs (finally a BMI of 24.9 which would make me "normal") 5. 139 lbs (130's!) 6. 135 GOALWEIGHT

My Program:
My current program is nothing fancy. I have a weekly goal of burning 6,000 calories a week with 1 day of rest. I am currently motivated to become a runner. I've decided to make it a goal to run a 5k in November. Therefore, I am incorporating the "Couch to 5K" program into my cardio along with running for endurance at the end of my running intervals (aka: running as far as I can before I pass out!). Also, I am still trying to eat clean and focus on low sodium while keeping the booze out of my diet as much as possible. I'm currently trying to eat 5 meals a day (including protein shakes) and monitoring my calories.
