Can't stand it anymore. I am one of those people whose weight always fluctuates. I'm up 5 pounds this week, down 8 next week. I have tried various diets. I've taken some pills (which was short lived, because I realized they don't work and for the most part, they aren't really good for you). I like to think that I have learned some things about more healthy eating and am really interested in making a LIFESTYLE CHANGE----not a diet. Can't stand it anymore. I am one of those people whose weight always fluctuates. I'm up 5 pounds this week, down 8 next week. I have tried various diets. I've taken some pills (which was short lived, because I realized they don't work and for the most part, they aren't really good for you). I like to think that I have learned some things about more healthy eating and am really interested in making a LIFESTYLE CHANGE----not a diet. I'm eating the right types of foods for the most part, but my portions are not controlled. I am a labor and delivery nurse on a very busy floor. I need to find some way to fit eating in more often so that I don't eat the table as soon as I get home. Because my diet is not that bad, and I am still 213 pounds, the missing piece has to be EXERCISE. I have a couple of DVD's that I really like. I may invest in an elliptical machine---we'll see. I'm mustering up motivation and I'm sick of not liking myself. So this time---I really hope it's for real.

Thanks for your nice comment :) It looks like you're making some really amazing progress already. Great work! My weight fluctuates all the time too--for me, the best thing to do is monitor the fluctuations (eventually you can find the pattern and various causes). Seeing the overall pattern helps me to NOT get as concerned when I see a "high" number on the scale.
