Drink water, track food, move!

Hi. I'm Heather, a 36-year-old San Diego transplant. I've been on SparkPeople for a couple of years and have made some really great friends here.

Goals and hopes for myself in 2013:

* I'm going to run my first 10K and keep running 5Ks, which will help me reach my annual fitness minutes goal, too.

* I want to do more things that scare me. I had a couple of things on an adventure list for 2012, but I didn't do them. It's ON this year! Climbing Cowles ...

* I want to do more things that scare me. I had a couple of things on an adventure list for 2012, but I didn't do them. It's ON this year! Climbing Cowles Mountain in San Diego and taking a spin class - these two things scare the hell outta me, so I'm definitely doing them.

* I am determined to stop beating myself up. What good comes from it? I wouldn't talk that way to anyone else, so why is it OK to do that to myself? Sounds logical, but following up with action is tough. I consciously did this before and was amazed at how much better I felt.

* Taking care of my health is another big goal. I avoided doctors for years and let small problems grow larger. I don't have time and energy to waste, so I need to tackle health issues as they crop up. Tracking my food, drinking enough water, and eating fresh, beautiful foods will be my baseline for healthy living. If it's a habit, it takes very little work.

My Goals:
July 2013:
* 1,000+ fitness minutes
* 8 glasses of water a day
* Jump rope 1 min without stopping
* Track food and stick to my calorie range
* Be nicer to myself (and others!)

My Program:
I've backed off training for a 10K for now, but I want to run the Iron Girl 10K in December.

I've started doing a Kaia FIT workout 3 times a week, and I love how challenging it is. It's a bootcamp/Crossfit-type workout with lots of intervals and bodyweight work.

I'm gluten-free on the recommendation from a nutritionist, and it's working for me. I've finally started to lose weight and it has eliminated some embarrassing issues, as well.

I'm one big experiment lately!

Personal Information:
I live north of San Diego and I'm always up for a walk/hike/run in this gorgeous weather. If you're game, let me know!

Other Information:
When I run fast, even for just a few seconds, I feel like Wonder Woman. Any Prince song from back in the day can instantly improve my mood.

Yeah Heather, I really like it, I have some groupons to finish up, but I'm already to be signed up in December. I really like it. I haven't been with Becca for a workout yet, just orientation. I think she does the mornings and I'm always at night. Maybe you can come out with Jocelyn on a share the love day, but no guarantee Becca will be there, lol. GO KAIA!
