I Finally Get It

I joined Sparkpeople on 1-3-09. After so many years of yo-yo dieting, I have finally realized that a permanent lifestyle change is necessary to be healthy and fit. I have a very supportive husband and a great sister-in-law, DELERIOUS64, who has motivated me and coached me over these last two years. I lost 23 pounds in 7 months and gradually put 7-8 back on during 2010. But I'm back on the wagon and ready to start training for my 2nd half marathon! Two years ago, the thought of running ...

Two years ago, the thought of running never entered my mind. I try to run in a race at least once a month because it keeps me motivated to do my best. The great feeling of accomplishment I get when crossing the finish line is something I'm looking forward to for many more years.

I don't usually go to the parade anymore, I used to. I might just have to go if it means meeting sparkers, right?

Congratulations on your 10K. When did you run the one you mentioned. It was not my best time ever (close to my slowest). I am having some difficulty with pain in my left foot when I run. Can't seem to find the answer. So, I am very slow right now.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have no problem going out for a run, long or short, but just the thought of doing strength training (no matter how good it is supposed to be) has me running to the sofa. It has helped me to whittle my middle.....now if I could embrace it to help these thunder thighs. Lol!
