I agree with Star, I carry a notebook and write down everything. That way, I can see where my problems are and maybe I can find a good recipe that lowers the fat content or the calories or whatever.
Saw your status, one thing that helps me is to carry a notebook. I love the spark tracker but sometimes it is just not conveinent for me (like at work, or when I'm out and about for the day) because I find if I wait until I get home to track I "forget" to put in everything. With having the notebook right there I can track as I go, it isn't nearly as fancy and don't offer all the amounts on calories etc. but I find it to be easier for me! ;) And it still lets me see how much food I've eaten.
