Taking it One Day at a Time

I am a 37 year old who has been through the cycle of losing and gaining weight multiple times. I am so sick and tired of it. I feel like I am ready to really change this time.

I have a pretty big motivation - not only to become more healthy for myself, but also to become more healthy for a last chance at possibly achieving one of my dearest dreams - having a child. I don't have much time left to make that happen, so it's do or die time.

My Goals:
40 minutes+ cardio 5x a week.

Lift weights 3x a week

Figure out ways to distract myself when temptation hits, until the temptation has passed.

My Program:
I am following the No-S plan. Three meals a day, no snacks during the week. On weekends I'm allowing myself one splurge meal and two small treats.

Personal Information:
I am a school librarian near a Native American reservation. 98% of our students are NA. This is my third year here, and I love it!

Other Information:
I love to read! It is probably my greatest passion. Just a few of my favorite authors: John Grisham, Richard North Patterson, Janette Oke, Laura Ingalls Wilder, etc. Some of my all time favorite movies: Good Will Hunting, Beaches, Rainman, The Fox and the Hound ....

I recently reconnected with a man I dated back in 2004. We are trying to see if we can work the second time around - and both of us are wanting to make healthier lifestyles.

Thank you for the grand children comment, they are really sweet kids, inside and out. I couldn't ask for anyone better. Its fun being a grandma, off to the park, movies or ice cream. Swoop in, kiss em, love em, spoil em and then swoop right back out again. Its great. No responsibilities or work involved.

This is a great site, I think it is going to be a big help to me. My goal is to lose enough weight so I can get on the floor to play with the kids, and then get back up again, what a concept. Oh, I can get down ok, but getting up is really ugly. Keep in touch. I need all the help I can get.

Sorry to hear you are not doing ChaCha any longer. I have been there since the beginning, soooooo many changes. I still putter away at it, not as much as when it was desktop, but enough to make a 2 or 3 hundred a month. It helps. You can always come back if the need hits you.

Keep in touch, everyone is such a big help.

Mary Lou

It hasn't been a year, has it? Lord, I am getting old, cuz time sure zips by these days! Thank you for your comment on my blog. That is an amazing compliment and I am really happy that you check in on me when you are here. I am glad to read that you are back on board. I truly believe that there is a "spark" to this site and that it is a secret weapon we can use to improve our lives. And I don't just mean with weight-loss--we are all looking for something and I think a lot of the answers can be found here, among all the wonderful people here!

Thanks again and welcome back!

Hi! Nice to hear from you (and thanks for the well wishes too!)

Yeah, getting laid off stinks -- especially right before the holidays. I'm READY to get back on the Spark program too -- I also had a major slip up (i.e., I'm right back where I started from + 3 pounds, ew) but I'm REALLY looking forward to those New Years Resolutions this year!

Take care! :)
