"No Reserves. No Retreats. No Regrets." ~ William Borden
"A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her." ~ Max Lucado
I'm a 31 year-old stay-at-home-mom of three beautiful children and wife to one AMAZING husband :) I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, and I'm ready live the life I was created for. To God be the Glory!
I've been Sparkin' for 3 months now, and what do I have to show for it? I am one-third of the way to my goal!! PRAISE the LORD!! I have also lost 5 inches in my hips, 4 inches in my waist and I am down 3 pants sizes!! But most of all, I understand what my body needs and what it doesn't. I've learned that living my best life means taking care of what God has given me, and sometimes making the tough decisions -- Choosing what is good and loving myself enough to put God first.
I survived the holidays! Praise the Lord! I'm so relieved to get back to normal, whatever that is =) Now for the numbers: I'm 50% to my goal weight and I'm a size 16 down from my original 22/24!! To date I've lost 7 inches in my waist, 8 inches in my hips, 3 inches in my neck and 2 inches in my arms! YAY!! I am starting to see the shape of my body change, and I like what I see! I feel like a butterfly that is emerging from it's cocoon! ! I am eagerly anticipating what the Lord is going to do in my life, in my body and in my heart in 2008... It truly is a Happy New Year!!
January 27th was my 6 month anniversary here at SparkPeople and I am loving it more than ever!! I lost almost 10 pounds in January! The faithfulness of the Lord never ceases to amaze me!! Praise Jesus and thank you, SP!! I am claiming this verse to represent my continuing journey of transformation: "'This Temple is going to end up far better than it started out, a glorious beginning but an even more glorious finish: a place in which I will hand out wholeness and holiness.' Decree of God-of-the-Angel-Armies." Haggai 2:9 (The Message, Copyright by Eugene H. Peterson) My body and soul is the Temple of the Most High God, and He is making it more glorious than I could dare to dream! Praise His Holy Name!! =)
I'm closing in on my 9 month Spark anniversary, and all I can say is: It really works! The weight-loss has slowed down in the last few months, but I have a body that I'm not ashamed of anymore. I feel like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I have not reached my "ideal" weight yet, it may take me quite a while, but I know there's no going back. The habits formed in the last 9 months are real and are here to stay. I have an entirely reformed relationship with food, and an healthier relationship with my body in general. My outlook is positive and Life is Good. Here are the statistics: I have lost almost 70 pounds since starting Spark, and I have gone from a size 22-24 to a size 12. Truly amazing! I thank and praise God, my Savior, for this remarkable success and look to Him alone for my Hope and my Future! Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me."
After being an active member at Spark People for almost 13 months, I am NO LONGER OVER-WEIGHT! This weekend has marked a new beginning for my life, because according to the Body Mass Index, I am within the HEALTHY weight-range for my height! This is truly a remarkable and miraculous moment after nearly 20 years of being over-weight! Praise GOD from Whom ALL blessings flow!! =)
UPDATE: 12/05/08 -- ON A SPARKPEOPLE BREAK!!!
I am 11 weeks pregnant! I will be updating my ticker periodically just to "keep it real," and I will be back next year, once my doctors clear me to resume my weight-loss journey! Thanks and God bless!!
I'm eating more natural foods, especially vegetables and fruit, and less processed food. I'm focusing on power foods (high in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties). I drink 64-80oz of water daily. I am trying to do cardio 4x/week and strength training 2x/week.
Most importantly, I'm seeking to find satisfaction in God, not in food, by having a time every day that is set aside for prayer and Bible study.
UPDATE: I am currently in the process of eliminating artificial sweeteners and caffeine from my diet. This is not a "never-again" elimination, but a less extreme "avoid if possible" elimination. I know my body and my life will benefit from less of both of these.
