Hello everyone! I'm new to this site. I've found it recently and decided to join it in the hope of achieving some life -changing (and life- saving) habits. I'm slightly overweight, only need to loose some kg but I never manage to do that. I've tried everything but nothing has worked. I feel depressed all the time and it's not just because of the extra weight. The weight is really just a small detail. It's the way I feel about everything. I suffer from mild social anxiety disorder (Iguess this dates back to my childhood and the way I was raised) and this has affected my life a lot.
I'm married, I have a wonderful husband and two wonderful children and I don't want them to grow up and find out that the mother they trust so deeply is, in fact, full of doubts and fears and some bad habits: I tend to procrastinate, I eat (and sometimes drink) unhealthily when alone, and I feel depressed most of the time. Sometimes, although I fight against it, this reflects in the relationship with my family. I love them so deeply that I feel I really need to change and make them smile every single day. I pledge myself to do that every single day from now on.

I totally understand about anxiety and depression. It's debilitating. I have a lot of weight to lose and have plenty of things to motivate me, and yet I don't do it. But SPark People has worked for me before...when I do it...and I will! We can do this!

Hi there,

I've just had a chance to read your intro. I have to say that you have taken an important step in joining this site. You have recognized a problem and are acting to solve it, and that is often the most difficult part. It seems that as with all things taking things one step at a time often works best. Use this site and all the tools here to succeed in this one part of your life. See some certain successes and be happy and excited about them. Share them and take in all the positive energy you are sure to receive. Build on your successes and move on to bigger and more significant successes.
Just remember to expect some setbacks, don't be ruled by them but learn from them. They happen to all of us, the learning part and the part that makes us stronger and more confident is getting past them and keeping the goal in site. You will do great! Message me if you need to.
