I am strong in Jesus' name! I am winning this battle with Him!!!

I just turned 60 this January 2014. I'm married. I have two grown children and two beautiful grandchildren. I live in Staten Island NY if anyone wants walking company from that area. My children really encouraged me to change the path I've been going so I have decided to take a stand. That's why I joined SparkPeople. I want to live a long healthy life. I have physical challenges but will overcome in Jesus Name!

I Read this from another Persons SparkPage and really liked it:

Don't say, 'If I could, I would.' Say instead, 'If I can, I will.'
It is our philosophical set of the sail that determines the course of our lives. To change our current direction, we have to change our way of thinking, not our circumstances. I used to say, 'I sure hope things will change.' Then I learned that the only way things are going to change for me is when I change. Disgust and resolve are two of the great emotions that lead to change. We generally change ourselves for one of two reasons; inspiration or desperation. If you don't like where you are, change it! You're not a tree. "
- Jim Rohn

Thinking of you my friend and wishing you the best in all that comes your way this year. Some will be good and some may stressful. When stress does come your way I want to share something that may help for it has me.I have been studying much this week over and over from Psalms 46:1-8 how deeply God cares for the deep needs that we have. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances, troubles and trials bring us discouragement and despair. The Psalmist identifies these to the upheavals in nature in verses 2-3, but He shows us his fearless trust in 2a and the reason why he has such trust in verse 1. God is our refuge, our strength, and our present help in time of trouble. He is the one we can run to 24/7. He cares and has the power to help, strengthen us in all our trials, trouble, distractions, and makes it where we can lean on him and relax as he is in control.
Hugs,
Lois
