I keep updating and updating this page and I don't ever seem to make the changes that I plan on. Sparkpeople is a great site and I find a lot of inspirational and motivational stories and pictures that get me going for a week or two and then I just slowly phase out of the good things I've been doing.

Sparkpeople is a great site and I find a lot of inspirational and motivational stories and pictures that get me going for a week or two and then I just slowly phase out of the good things I've been doing.

I've struggled with my weight my entire life. From kindergarten through middle school, I was always the tallest and heaviest out of EVERYONE. In high school, I was still a big girl but I was very active and it didn't really bother me. My first year of college, I lost 40 pounds and kept it off for a good 4 years. Although I was still over 200 pounds, I looked great, felt amazing, and had confidence like never before!

I began to gain the weight back in 2008-I wasn't very active and my boyfriend and I ate out a lot. Aaannd, I partied a lot so all that beer wasn't helping much. Since then, I've gained back the 40 pounds I initially lost plus about 15 extra pounds.

I try dieting a few times a year but I never stick to it and I go back to my unhealthy, inactive ways. I get on my Sparkpeople account for a week or two, get really motivated and then give up when I don't see the results I want when I want them.

This past summer, I was in the most beautiful wedding ever. Everyone looked amazing against a gorgeous San Diego backdrop and I felt like a beached whale in a dress and heels.
And then when the pictures were posted, I definitely looked like a beached whale in a dress and heels.

After that crazy dip in my self-esteem, I began looking through old pictures of when I had lost all that weight before. I realized that it's not impossible (I've done it before!) and that I really, really, really want to be that girl again who feels great about herself and lets it shine!

Not only am I absolutely dedicated to getting healthy, I have my boyfriend at my side setting the same types of goals and following through with it. It is so much easier and a lot more fun with a buddy!

I'm going to lose the weight and it's going to be fantastic!

My Program:
No rice, potatoes, bread, pasta, candy...
Lots of fruits and veggies.
Lots of water.
NO soda.
Portion control.
Limited intake of processed foods.
Breakfast every morning. I'm really bad about not eating breakfast.

30-45 minute walks at least 3 times a week.
5K training 3-4 times a week.
Strength training twice a week.

Personal Information:
I'm from California. And not the cool, beachy part of California but the really hot, deserty part.

i feel you there. I havent been the best with eating or exercising either. but i havent given up hope. its been on the back of my mind. and now that i feel like my self confidence has grown i want to feel whats its like to be healthy. keep pushing. do something small each day and let it become a habit and then move on to the next thing. if we keep on doing the same thing everyday and eating unhealthily, this time next year we are going to regret that we didnt make any changes. we can do this! emoticon

Thanks for the motivation! I def kicked it into high gear after reading your comment. My eating has been better and I've started running again so I'm excited to keep going. Lets keep pushing! We can do this!!

I've actually been having a hard couple weeks. I've been having such a sweet tooth. It's been about a month. Haven't gained anything thankfully but idk I haven't been very motivated to exercise at all . I know I need to get back on track. It's so hard :(
