This was right before I started. It's not a good pic, but a rare pic--I don't like being photographed.

My daughter. My reason.

Float like a butterfly, Sting like a bee
I'm the kind of girl who's always thinking about everyone else. I'm always there for friends when they need it, always encouraging others, but never thinking about myself. I've recently realized that if I don't start thinking about me, I won't be able to be there for the most important person in my life--my daughter. The day she was born changed me in the way that I suddenly really cared about my health as a reason to lose weight, before I only cared that it would make me look pretty. ...

I've recently realized that if I don't start thinking about me, I won't be able to be there for the most important person in my life--my daughter. The day she was born changed me in the way that I suddenly really cared about my health as a reason to lose weight, before I only cared that it would make me look pretty. It's hard going, and times are tight, so I've made myself a little list of rewards to motivate me on my weight loss journey. 276--Starting weight 266--White eyeliner(it gives the look of brighter, bigger eyes) 256--Hair color(hmm...something normal or something fun?) 246--Something from the $10 category on shanalogic.com 236--New scarf 226--a manicure 216--New book 206--New shoes 199--Onederland!!! New jeans!

My Goals:
To begin cooking healthy meals for myself instead of settling for fast food and to lose a WHOLE LOT of weight. The above was my goal the first time I joined Sparkpeople--I wasn't exactly successful. Now things are different. I want to run a 5k. Keep up with my daughter as she learns to crawl, walk, run... Still be active in my 80's. Look good in a little black dress. Go rockclimbing!
My Program:
My fiance and I have started cooking at home a lot more, and when we go out for the day, we plan where and what we're going to eat ahead of time. We go out for walks nearly every evening(or we do when it's warm out). At home, I spend time on our stationary bike and spend a lot of time reading about nutrition, as well as a lot of time reading articles in the motivation category here on Sparkpeople. The first step for me is quite obviously obtaining the knowledge to do this right.
Personal Information:
I was a Navy brat as a kid, so was never far from the ocean and many beautiful women scantily clad in bikinis. I rarely ever went to the beach because of my figure, and this I regret because I LOVE the ocean. I always dreamt of living in the mountains though, and now I have that along with all the wonderful physical activity that comes with it. You're hard pressed to not end up walking uphill frequently. There are long hiking trails just a few minutes away from my home. Still though, I can't wait to go back and visit my parents in Florida with a body meant for the beach and wow the people that never took a chance to know me because I was "the fat girl".
Other Information:
I'm an avid reader and writer of sci-fi and fantasy novels. Yes, I write novels--one of these days I'm going to submit one for publication until it's published. Oddly, the more I lose weight, the more sure I am about other aspects of my life. Suddenly I KNOW that I'm a good writer and can be published. A few pounds makes a HUGE difference.
