Here I am on the left after just graduating from high school in 2005 at 115 lbs. I definitely haven't been that thin since!
Here I am (second from the right) when I worked at a gym in 2007. I wasn't in perfect shape then, but I was still thin at around 125 lbs.
In March of 2009 with my family- I was about 150 lbs. here (second to the left)! I definitely need to lose that weight.

My name is Vanessa and I am 24 years old. I live in NY with my fiance, Tim. I was always tall and thin throughout high school and the first two years of college (5'9" and 120 lbs.). One day I realized I wasn't thin anymore. I'm not especially overweight, but after quitting being a personal trainer at a gym, I have gained about 30 pounds in three years. So now my goal is to lose 20 pounds- I need to fit into a wedding dress! I want to become more toned, especially in my core; I need to lose the fat that covers my abs, obliques, and thighs. I am so determined to lose weight, I won't let myself get disappointed if I have a cheat day (or two). I may not be at my ideal weight by summer, but I KNOW I will look great! I absolutely can do this :)
I need to be challenged to keep myself motivated, so I've given myself goals when I reach a certain weight:
Goal #1: 145 lbs - Get my hair and nails done. I haven't gone in such a long time, so this will be a treat for me!
Goal #2: 140 lbs. - Go to a spa! I got a gift card to a spa for Christmas, so I think I'll wait to use it until I reach 140 lbs.
Goal #3: 135 lbs. - Buy a new summer dress (one that fits well!).
Goal #4: 130 lbs. - Buy a new swimsuit and go to the beach for a day!
I would like to lose 20 pounds and to get fit. I'm starting at 150 lbs., and I'm aiming for 130 lbs.
I'm looking for more endurance and muscle tone also, because I've never been athletic, even when I was thin, and I'd like to be able to run a mile without stopping (or even a 1/2 of a mile!).
I'm trying to eat healthy without dieting, since my low carb diet last year helped me lose 15 lbs, but once I stopped the low carb I gained it all right back. It's difficult for me, since I eat fairly healthy anyway, I just eat so much.
I'm also trying work out and exercise 4 or 5 days a week. I was taking cardio and strength training classes at my gym, but my membership expired. Now I use a stationary bike while I'm watching TV at home, and I hike and go biking.

I was born in Redding, California, and have moved about 12 times in CA and NY before landing in Binghamton, NY.
My fiance's name is Tim, and he's the best person I know. He keeps me motivated, stops me from eating too much junk, and, more importantly, he doesn't make fun of me when I'm doing my silly-looking exercises in front of the TV.
I love to read! My favorite books are anything by Dean Koontz (my favorite is Odd Thomas), the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, The Stand by Stephen King, Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, and pretty much everything else :)
I love hanging out with my friends, though we don't see each other as often anymore. I love the beach but not the ocean, I love the woods but not the bugs, I can only dance crazily, I love summer and hate winter, I am obsessed with correct spelling and grammar, though I am sure I make mistakes all the time (for some odd reason, I can't spell sauce or sense correctly the first time around, I always write sause or sence first, haha), and all my friends know I am extremely weird and silly and crazy and fun :)

also my biggest things that i want to start doing on a regular basis right now are:
1. drinking 8 cups of water every day
2. taking a multivitamin every day (cause i do not get all the necessary vitamins through the food i eat since i don't eat most types of meat ie. iron, magnesium, zinc)
3. going to the gym at least 3 times a week
4. i really want to start taking zumba again (they have one at the moffat library: mon. 730pm, thur. 8pm & sat. 9:30am. i just don't think i can afford it right now...)
5. i also want to try and take a yoga class (there's a place in new windsor that has hatha yoga at 9:00am sundays. maybe we can check it out when you're in the area...)
what do you think? haha. any other suggestions?

poor elaina! i feel her pain! we went to el bandito's with seth's family the other night and i ate way too much for what my stomach had gotten used to in the past week now and i felt really sick afterwards it was horrible. the good part about doing that is it discourages me from eating too much or crappy food for a little while because i remember how bad i felt the last time...
how are you doing nessa? i miss you! i wish you were around so we could work out and eat healthy together. it's hard to do it with seth cause he's not always as strict as i am with the eating so i cave in sometimes...

Omg, I ate waaaay over my calorie count for today. This is why I cant lose weight. I don't know if I can do this. I love food too much.

any weight lose is good! :) my goal for the party is to lose another 8-10 lbs. hopefully i can pull that off hahaha i havent been eating much the last two weeks so if try to go to the gym (cause i havent been going :/ whoops haha) i'm sure i'll be able to lose more. yay!

p.s. is there a date picked out yet or even a year? hahaha :P

hi nessa! i see you came back on the other day. i just came back like last weekend haha :/ oh well... so i lost like 5 lbs while i was on vacation so i'm trying to keep it up. i had lost almost another 4 lbs since i've been back but i was bad on friday night so now it's at like 1 lbs. buttt i'm in the low to mid 170's now!!! 160's here i come!
