I decided to turn my life around when I was over the 350lb weight limit on the doctor's office scale. I changed my lifestyle on April 8 2008, and I have only had a scale that would weigh me since April 28, 2008.

There are a multitude of reasons for why I'm losing weight: a healthy blood pressure, lowered resting heart rate, better sleep & self confidence!

When I first joined Spark, I was drinking 1-2L of sugary soda a day. I lost weight relatively easy after completely cutting it out of my diet and eating healthier smaller portions. I fell off the wagon in 2009, and until late August of 2010 I had gained 15-20 lbs back, topping at 338. Since then I have got back to my lowest weight in 3 years on 10/04/10.

I am not going to give up this time. I am committed and have a stronger willpower now than ever before in my life. People close to me present opportunity after opportunity to test temptation and willpower, but I am standing steadfast. You can do it, too.

The biggest factors in my first attempt and now are PORTION CONTROL and INDULGING. Learning portion sizes has been a huge eye opener. I would probably eat 3-4 servings of pasta before, not realizing the calorie count. Secondly, indulging in those foods that you say "the old me" would eat has helped maintain my weight loss. Going from all to nothing will not work me, as evidenced by my many attempts in the past to go cold turkey and gain TONS more weight back. I INDULGE myself in those foods, but with smaller portions or healthier versions.

    So, how much more are you planning on losing? I bet you are looking really good!!!!
    I am registered on MFP under the user name Azilee, and am going to start using it more frequently. I like that their app allows some social interaction also. I use the app on my phone more than the computer, and since SP doesn't have interaction within their app, I miss that piece of this whole concept. How can I find you on there? I'd love to keep up.
    I want to keep SP because of my blog history. Not many people are around anymore that I used to know, so that contributes to me being quiet here too.
