On Jan. 17, 2011 I decided to get serious all the way around and since then I have lost a total of 80 pounds over about a years time. I did it the right way doing extensive working out and keeping track of my food and eating properly. I had completed my first 10k in april 1012 and was training to do my first half marathon at Disneyland tinkerbell race which was taking place in January 2013.
Unfortunately I had a bad car accident on 12/11/2012. I had problems with my back and neck which led to me needing surgery on my lower back. I went from crazy woman on a mission to lose weight to a person who could hardly leave the couch at all for the first 6 months. I struggled when I realized the weight was coming fast. I was so depressed between the pain and the weight. The doctors tell me I needed to lose 40 pounds before the surgery. I struggled the whole way in my broken body and watching what I eat to lose 30 pounds which at that point was told to lose 50. I then decided I wanted a second opinion which I got and the doctor then told me I needed the surgery right away. I asked him about the weight and he said the only difference would be the size of the scar. He said do what I could do to build my core before the surgery date and that would help my recovery.
My surgery took place on 6/29/2015. I had a disc replacement and fusion on my L5 disc. Recovery was not nearly what I thought it would be and now it is 2/25/2016 8 months later and I have been doing 50 mins. 5x a week and strength training 3 days a week. I still modify some things but I am definitely getting stronger all over. I am tracking what I am eating and now using a fitbit HR to keep track of my fitness. I love that fitbit and sparkpeople work together makes it so much easier. I am a determined Soul and I only have 54 pounds to lose to get back to my lowest weight before the accident. I will be updating regularly now if you need help keeping on track become my friend on fitbit or sparkpeople.

Update 6/14/11...... Up to 27 pounds lost since January 17th.......
UPdate 8/22/11...... UP to 32 pounds lost since Jan. 17th.....Slowly but surely going in the right direction...
Update 2/22/12..... I am currently at 182 and its time to get back on track again.....I have taken some time to myself and not worried about my exercise and nutrition and look where its gotten me..... but thats because I have been eating whatever I want and not being accountable..... I have some goals for this year!!! I am going to follow through for once with my running training and then I want to take it to the next level and run several half marathons this year and be able to run my first full marathon by next year.... I want to do this for me!!! Wish me luck!!!

I joined Sparkpeople on 05/13/10.
I currently just got serious starting on Jan. 17, 2011.
I burn 3000 - 3200 calories a week between five days...
I eat 1200 - 1550 calories a day watching not to exceed carb, fats, or protein goals..
I strength Train 6 Days a week working one main muscle Group a day...
My goal is to reach 140 pounds before the end of the year.....Wish me luck!!!
