FInding the Fabulosity that is Fortysomething

They say third time is the charm. I've decided it will be. Six years ago, almost to the day, I made a huge decision to move across the country to be with my soulmate. During the last half decade or so the two of us have faced enough adversity to last a lifetime.

2008, death of my stepmother

2009, adoption fell through, loss of 11yr career for my partner, death of her grandmother and of a long time family friend

2010, my great uncle's death in New England ...

2010, my great uncle's death in New England in July, my partner's great-gma's death in November, my mom is diagnosed with stage4 lung cancer just before Christmas

2011, my mother loses her fight Dec 30, at the very moment my brother's wedding starts

2012, our small business struggles to stay open, but closes in Oct, go home to finally inter my mother's ashes on her birthday in December

2013, my grandmother passes away in New England in Feb, as soon as we get back from New England, we move in with Shel's great-gpa to take care of him so he doesn't have to go to a nursing home, he passed away at the kitchen table with us in May, later that summer another of Shel's grandparents passes, then the worst tragedy, our 21yr old niece dies, the youngest of our adult nieces.

So, if there are times I sound a bit angry or go off on a topic or kick and scream like a 4 yr old.... think I am allowed.

Through this my weight has crept up and up. Last September was the breaking point, I hit the 200's. RIght now I am just below that, but I keep yoyoing between 195 and 205.

I recently turned 41 and have really started to 'feel' it. I am hoping I have enough fortitude to keep with this through out my weight loss and to stay with it to maintain my goal.
