Sick of being the fat girl with a pretty face!
I used to be pretty fit. I was an athlete and very physically fit and active. I was thin. I felt wonderful! Last October I broke my ankle which slowed me down tremendously. I went from being so fit, running marathons, to absolutely nothing at all. I never had to worry about what food I put in my mouth or how much (or lack of) exercise I got. Getting older, slowing down, not caring, not paying attention, finally has gotten me into trouble. Being in therapy for my ankle, trying to make it ...
I used to be pretty fit. I was an athlete and very physically fit and active. I was thin. I felt wonderful! Last October I broke my ankle which slowed me down tremendously. I went from being so fit, running marathons, to absolutely nothing at all. I never had to worry about what food I put in my mouth or how much (or lack of) exercise I got. Getting older, slowing down, not caring, not paying attention, finally has gotten me into trouble. Being in therapy for my ankle, trying to make it stronger, I didn't pay attention to my eating habits. And exercise? What was that? It's definitely taken it's toll out on my body. I know I probably can't be the size 5 I grew up knowing. But, I am not liking the size I am now and know that for my height, it's not healthy. I'm scared for myself and want to become healthy and want to get to a stage where I can look into the mirror and be satisfied and happy, like before. I'm not liking what I see in the mirror when I look at my body. I'm ready to change it, but I know I can't do it alone.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 20 lbs by Sept 23, 2008 To drink at LEAST 6x 8oz. glasses of water each and EVERY day. To become more active and at least do something to get moving 3-4x per week. To not beat myself up if these goals are not met, and to reward myself with something not food related if I do.
My Program:
I am going to run in the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco for the 2nd year in a row. Training for that begins on June 28th up until the marathon race this October. I am going to be more active by training for that and watching what I eat. I will start drinking more water each day.
Personal Information:
I am 32 years old and have lived in San Jose, CA for 30 years. I'm a career woman and have a wonderful boyfriend who helps motivate me every day. He's very supportive and loves me unconditionally. I am surrounded by positive people and have a great group of friends. I come from a family who is my rock, in fact, my Sister Pamlea is one of my motivations in joining SparkPeople!
