My Journey.........

I believe that if you embark on a weight loss program and you really embrace it then it will become a journey that can only benefit your life and everyone in your life. I started my journey 6 years ago and it has helped shape me into the person I am, which I love....but I believe that I can be even better and that is my goal!

I started my weight loss journey many years ago but until my hypothyroidism was diagnosed just before I turned 40 I was a complete failure. After diagnosis I lost 70 lbs over 4 years, a little at a time and maintaining for several months before losing more. I didn't plan it this way, that is just how it worked out. I put about 10 lbs back on by not paying attention and now I am after those 10 and 10 to15 more. If I can do it, I know that anyone can.

2010 is the year I make my health my priority. No excuses to reach all the goals I have set.

2011 is the year that I discover what works best for my changing body due to this new stage of life. Bring it on Peri Menopause!

My Goals:
So much closer to 50 than 40. I was healthier at 40 than I was at 30 so hoping I can say the same for the 50's versus the 40's

My Program:
Drink 10 glasses of water everyday.

Track all my food daily and stay within calorie range.

Cardio at least 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day.

Encourage other sparkers which will also benefit and bless me!

Personal Information:
I live in Riverside County, CA and even though I don't like the traffic, smog and all the other stuff that goes with city life, I love the weather and the sunshine, just not every day! I am an outdoors girl that would wither up without a regular dose of sunshine but am finding out I truly appreciate rain.

Other Information:
I am married and in my late 40's. Both of my beautiful children are grown and gone. I have 6 grandchildren that I adore. I have been discovering who I am, other than a wife and mom over the past 8 years. I have rediscovered my love of the outdoors and to be active.

Good to hear you are going strong and I have to say I am going strong also, I did another 30 mins of Walking this morning and am planning on doing leslie's strength session on Monday because I think the back will handle it by then.
No I have not tried a cleanse - sounds interesting to say the least! LOL! How many days in total do you do it for? and do you feel ok or does it make you feel tired?

Well I stood on the scale and it is still down emoticon I also managed to get another 30 mins of walk, walk, walk in this morning so going strong. The actual stand sit desk is not a whole new desk - which are actually quite small, but a platform that sits on top of my existing desk which holds the monitor and keyboard which I can raise to standing height with a lever - cheap and effective! Comes in at about $300 dollars or so - so you can tell your boss, no excuses :) It's not a walking desk, which would be the ultimate - but have to agree with you to try before you buy for one of those, they do take up a fair amount of room and you would have to check out the layout for desk space etc. Good to see you are also going strong with the exercise - how was the scale today or are you weighing tomorrow?

emoticon You are going great with the exercise :) Glad to hear your scale is dropping also. I managed to get up and do 30 minutes of Leslie this morning and feel good - a little sore but not bad emoticon I had good news yesterday, my boss is going to get me one of those up and down desks - so I can move it from sitting to standing - emoticon I'm so excited it will be great for my back, should have it inside of a week. Keep going strong and I will be in touch - weigh day tomorrow - let's see how we go.

Thanks for the goodie, I liked your 'roll' pun! LOL! Good to see you are gaining momentum and kicking butt. I had a pretty busy weekend, lots of running around and big family birthday at my place yesterday - so that counted as my exercise. Was feeling a bit sore and sorry by last night - but am in good form this morning - just didn't get up in time to exercise so will have to get a walk in at lunchtime to make up for it. Big surprise this morning too when I stood on the scales - I was expecting to be heavier due to the lower exercise routine - but low and behold I lost weight!!!! So now I'm thinking must be dehydration from all the wine I had yesterday emoticon So I will just wait a couple of days and weigh myself again and see if it's true or not.
