I am 25 and recently married. My wedding pictures were one of the hardest things in the world for me to look at. I have three herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, high testosterone which is causing a whole mess of problems and I also have a slow metabolism and chronic depression. Losing weight has been a huge challenge for me and has recently become a challenge I was tired of undertaking. I had completely given up.

Losing weight has been a huge challenge for me and has recently become a challenge I was tired of undertaking. I had completely given up.

Then I saw my wedding pictures. I wanted to cry. I don't know how it got so bad. I am almost exactly 260 pounds, more than I have ever weighed before, that I know of. There was a time where I just wouldn't get on a scale. I don't think I weighed this much though, even though I wore a larger size back then.

A lot of obstacles stand in my way...I'm not technically cleared for exercise, my husband and I are moving to Montana on Sudnay, my body holds onto weight like no other, the list goes on. BUT, I will NOT let it stop me. I have decided that even if it takes me YEARS to lose all this weight, I will do it.

This time last year I was in a completely different place with my weight loss. I was on track, my doctor and I had worked out a routine, I FELT good, even if others didn't always see that, I FELT it. Then my back went out again, for the third or fourth major time and it was the worst of them all.

I want to get back to how I FELT at that point in my life. The last week or so I have really been focused and doing well, I think. I have seen pictures of people who weighed much more than me that now weigh much less than me and look amazing! I am jealous, I can admit that, but I am motivated by them. One person in particular had almost the same medical problems as me and then some and is about 50 pounds lighter than me. I know that I have no excuse. Every little thing will help and even if it takes me 2 years to do what it should only take a year to lose, I will hang in there. Hell, even if it takes me 3 or 4 years, I will not give up. I am ready to be fit and healthy and live a happy life.

My husband has gained some recently due to depression and is fully supporting me and is ready to make lifestyle changes with me. No diets for this girl. Just better eating and more movement. :-)

My Goals:
I would like to reach a healthy weight of 128.

I'm going to post my goals in two month increments. For at least the first two months, there will be no weight goals.

Week 1: Do at least 10 minutes of exercise 5 days

Week 2: Do at least 10 minutes of exercise 7 days

Week 3: Do at least 15 minutes of exercise at least 5 days (moving to Montana from New Mexico this week)

Week 4: Do at least 15 minutes of exercise 7 days

Week 5: Do at least 20 minutes of exercise 7 days

Week 6: Do at least 25 minutes of exercise 7 days

Week 7: Do at least 30 minutes of exercise 7 days

Week 8: Do at least 35 minutes of exercise 7 days

My Program:
I'm on severe restrictions to do a major back problem, but I am NOT going to let that stop me.

I am approved for a rowing machine, foot/hand pedals, squats, yoga moves as long as they don't send shooting pains, and a weighted hula hoop. I am sure there are others, those are just the ones my doctor and I have discussed. I am NOT to walk more than a mile at any time and am NOT to ever jog or run, not until my back is stronger. At this point it is unclear if they are going to do surgery, since I seem to be recovering. However, they are not sure how I can walk, stand or move, since none of my specialists have ever seen an MRI like mine where the person could move and wasn't screaming in agony.

One of my favorite stories of all time is Peter Pan. I'm not talking Disney's Peter Pan, but the real story. If you ever want to see a good Peter Pan, watch the one with Jeremy Sumpter. Amazing. But my favorite quote isn't the usual one, "To die would be an awfully big adventure." My favorite quote is, "To LIVE would be an awfully big adventure."
