Off and running again :-)

I'm Natalie and I have just a few pounds to lose, but those seem to be the hardest. Hopefully my love of running can overcome my love of baking cookies :-)

I listened to the sound track on a vinyl record so many times growing up because my mom had it and liked it. It was my first time seeing it live as well, interesting because Summertime, one of the best known songs that has been recorded as a blues-jazz style, is actually a lullaby and not a belt-out song. There was the adjustment to a live performance without a mike as it is an opera, but after that I really enjoyed it. The spontaneity of the live performance is magical. Kind of a funny moment at the end, the villain Crown was booed when he came on stage because he was the villain, he gave an excellent performance, after the initial booing for his villainy, he got a hearty cheer as well.

Hi Nat,

Thanks for your comment on my “Bike Ride to the Past” blog. We took our cat and dog with us. In those days, I worked from home. The fire started about 1:00pm on a weekday. A lot of people were away from home at work. The police saved a lot of animals trapped in houses. Our friend’s house was the first house in the path of the fire and burned down before anyone could respond.

Cats and dogs are not pets. They are family members. The loss was just too much for our friends to bear.

Thanks, Bruce
