Natalie's SparkPage!

I've spent most of my life dealing with eating disorders and other mental illness, which has held me back from a lot, including making active, smart choices about my health. I am determined to break away from the eating disordered voices telling me to take unwise steps to get skinny quick and from the bipolar voices telling me I have to do everything all at once, but that I'll fail anyway.

This is something I want to devote myself to. I can do this.

My Goals:
Big picture: get active and eat healthy.

By the numbers:
Starting weight (8/5/12): 180
Goal weights:
11/5/12: 167.5
2/5/13: 155
5/5/13: 142.5
(End goal) 8/5/13: 130

Another goal is to be able to take a ballet class again. I was a very dedicated ballet dancer until two or three years ago. If I walked into a class now I wouldn't have the strength, flexibility, or cardio to withstand even a beginner level class. While I don't necessarily want to be a dedicated dancer again, I want to be able to take the occasional class. Let's start with being able to do a split on both sides again!

My Program:
- at least 2 (ultimate goal is 5) servings of fruits and veggies each day

- 8 glasses of water each day

- cardio (walking, with a goal to be able to do a walk/jog interval program like Couch to 5K) 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week

- strength training (yoga or pilates, Coach Nicole videos, or even WiiFit) for an hour a week or more

Personal Information:
Natalie
recently moved to Gainesville, FL for grad school from Chicago, IL where I did my undergrad

Message me for my email! I'm looking for friends!

Other Information:
My old fun fact said I was reading Infinite Jest and it was blowing my mind. Well I finished it a year ago, and it's still blowing my mind. Currently working on Les Miserables. I wonder if filling my summers with interminable books will become a pattern.

If you make the chickpea cookie dough, let me know how it goes! It's definitely something I want to make and it sounds really good! But those black bean brownies are delicious! I didn't add the coffee grounds to them. I've had people make them and say they weren't very good (they added the coffee), but the three times I've made them, everyone has liked them!

as always thank you so much for the support!! I just got back from a dining out experience with my recovery coach where I tackled an item in my fear food group. feeling partly pleased and partly terrified. glad your workouts are getting easier and you're seeing your own increase in strength!!
