This Is Not a Diet - This Is Your Life!

I am a child welfare professional who took a wrong turn into the business world last April. Been miserable ever since and that began my loss of my healthy habits. I am a child welfare professional who took a wrong turn into the business world last April. Been miserable ever since and that began my loss of my healthy habits. I am currently applying for jobs back in my field and near the coast because I love the beach! I have been involved in medieval reenactment in the past and lead singer in two bands! Once I started the new job, I stopped doing those things - so one goal in the New Year is to get back into the things that make me happy and feed my spirit. I am the mother of three - two sons by birth and a daughter that I had the honor of adopting from foster care when she was a teenager. They are all adults now and my daughter has made me a grandmother - my precious Grandson is Levi. I have been divorced since 2003 and finally have met the guy who I believe is the love of my life. I have been battling compulsive overeating and being overweight all of my life. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2001, but gained back most of the weight I lost. I have tried OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN to develop healthy habits and keep them. I don't know why but I always went back to my old habits of eating and isolating. I want to lose weight, but I don't focus on numbers. I just want to recommit to living a healthy lifestyle and I will "let the hips fall where they may!"

My Goals:
Although I hope to lose weight, my main goal is true LIFESTYLE changes: eating right, exercising daily, and natural management of depression and anxiety.

My Program:
Limiting portions, substituting healthier choices in foods, cutting out sugar, fat and carbs (my trigger food is carbs), exercising daily, taking my vitamins and drinking 8 glasses of water.

Thanks for the blog comment. I will just keep faking it until my mind and body are in the same place and ready to get back to working on me. Also, having not worked in 6+ years I know my body is already reacting as if I have been working out, sore back, legs, shoulders, etc. One baby step at a time for me!

Thank you for the vacation. I really need it. Good luck with the last of the packing and the actual move. Remember to take time to eat and drink while moving. Sometimes you get so caught up and busy you forget to, and your body really needs it to keep going and function optimally.
