I took time today to view my Sparkpage. I realized that I haven't updated this portion of the page in almost two years. Too much has happened to recount so I am looking forward to what I can achieve in the future.

Losing weight is no longer something I might just like to do, it is a have to do. My health and being here for my family depended upon it. In June the Dr. told me that I was a full blown diabetic. My legs were suffering because of this and the lack of care I have been giving myself. I found it rather interesting that instead of being emotional and being upset over this news it was just what I needed to get back with the program to get healthy again. Now it is not a choice but a must and this seems to have changed my ability to stay focuses.

The journey will not be an easy one because I have walked this path before. I always have stumbled in the past. I have left markers at those points and I do remember what side tracked me. I will pay close attention to those markers as I pass them this time. I will remember what caused the stumble and make plans to avoid the stumble the next time. When I fall I will get back up this time. I have to - I want to live.

In a year I will celebrate a healthier me. I will have overcome the health issues that are pulling me down now. I will!

I will be celebrating my 2 year anniversary on January 12th. In those two years I have lost 34 lbs. While I would have liked to have seen a much larger loss, I also know that the loss in itself is a victory for me. Without Sparks I would have gone the other direction. It is through the friends that I have met here that I know I will continue to experience weight loss and success in taking control of many areas of my life.

This is a new year and I am setting new goals. The most important one is to make healthier choices all the way around. Not only in my food consumption but in exercise and life choices.

I want to encourage everyone to join me this year is dedicating themselves to living a healthier life. Making the choices that will allow us to live longer and enjoy life on a higher plane. Start with the smaller choices and work your way up to the bigger choices.

HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!

It is a new year and I once again am starting over. But this time I have a new sense of direction. While I do need to lose a lot of weight, what I really need to do is get healthy. So that is my focus. The lost weight will be a big side benefit. A new year, a new focus, and new successes. Hope everyone joins me as we work together to get healthy.

I have done this before. But I can't seem to find the right combination this time and need help. I am stepping out in faith believing that I can do this one step at a time. I am a stay at home grandma that has her grandbaby with her 24/7. It has been hard going back in time to raise her. She is a good little girl but she has changed my life in ways I wasn't prepared for. A New begining for a New Year.

My first goal is to reach the 300 lbs. mark. I am not setting a date because I always get tripped up.

Then my next goal will be 10% of that 300 lbs. I will continue to do the 10% until I have reached a reasonable goal weight which has not yet been determined.

For now I am trying to follow the plan set forth by this site. I have made some changes but for the most part I stick fairly close.



Personal Information:
I am a 55 year old mother of three grown children. I have four grandchildren. I live in a rural part of Idaho and enjoy the wide open spaces. Most of my time is spent caring for the people that God places in my life on a daily basis. I am a crafty person and enjoy just about any thing I can do with my hands.
