Overweight since puberty, I topped the scales at 228lbs by the time I was 30 years old. Sick of living on the sidelines, I changed my life that year by losing almost 70 pounds. Suddenly, I felt alive for the first time. I went to college, I was dating for the first time, and I became the confident, capable woman I always knew I was.

I met my husband at school and we were married in 2009. Slowly, over the next two years, I gained back 40 pounds, despite staying active. I came here in 2011 and with a LOT of hard work and the help of Sparkpeople, I lost 29 pounds... just in time to get pregnant in early 2012.

I stayed active during my pregnancy and ate well, but due to some complications in my last trimester that resulted in a very traumatic birth experience, I came home from the hospital and just started eating.

One day I stepped on the scale and was shocked to see I weighed 215 pounds! I have lost a few on my own, but I need help, and Sparkpeople gave me the motivation I needed to keep food out of my mouth and keep my butt moving on days when it felt like such a long haul.

Now I'm 40, have a one year old daughter and find myself above 200 pounds again, a place I never thought i'd be. I'm ready to do this, and I know I have it in me because I've done it before. This time, I have another huge reason to be healthy... so I can see my daughter grow up and be able to keep up with her in the meantime. It's important for me to be a good role model to her, and that means being healthy myself.

My Goals:
*Lose 20 pounds of baby weight. That will be enough of a challenge for now!


My Program:
1500 calories/day.

Trying the South Beach Diet. So far so good! I love being sugar free!

2 daily walks with Charlotte, 4-5 boot camp-style workouts/week plus 4-5 30-minute sessions on the treadmill each week. Plus hiking and walks and my work, which is physical, plus running around after a 1-year old!

More protein and veggies, less carbs. And minimal sugar; it makes me cry!

One cheat meal per week.

We are active in our church. I love to sing, cook, read, be outside, love on people and escape to the mountains at every opportunity.

    I am doing fine, thanks for asking. My Hubby and I have been in northern Ontario hunting , we left the middle of Sept and we are still up here. No moose and he dose not want to give up.

    I was hoping that I would hear from you one of these days. Thought I'd lost ya forever! It's been a roller coaster ride here. Still trying to get back on track (loyally). Getting back on my feet after a summer of surgeries (both hands/wrists). Out of work, falling into depression, and not focusing on my health led me right back to where I began. Although, this time I know the tools and I know what works. It's a work in progress!

    Finishing a paper that is due tomorrow (procrastinated) and preparing dinner. Talk soon!! Yayyy!!! Xoxo
