I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I was the full time caregiver to my hubby who has Lewy Body Dementia. Joseph is now in a VA nursing home down near Fort Lews. I do not get to see him too often as it is 150 miles round trip.i don't get out much and have a hard time exercizing. I have had both knees replaced but one did not heal properly as it got a MRSA infection in it. I was in a serious car accident in April 2015. I was rearended by a lady on her phone. I was stopped at red light and she hit me at full speed so hard that her small Impala shoved my van over ten feet with my foot jammed on the brake. It sprained my foot and ankle! I also got a ligament tear in right shoulder and three broken vertebrae in my neck. I just recently got out of the hard neck brace. I have to wear a soft collar when in a vehicle. The doc said I should consider wearing it Ina car for rest of my life as another accident could cause worse damage! I had pretty much maintained my weight until the accident and then I could do nothing so I put on about 20-25 pounds. So here I am back at SparkPeople to get those off and maybe even the rest of what I need to do!
That's good news that you are almost to a weight that you will feel comfortable at. I know about the excess skin. The legs, arms, tummy, even butt, all have loose skin. But I am 71 and it's not too bad when I am dressed. Without it I would be a little slip of a women. About 120 . At least that's what the doctor says. Ha. it will never happen. I live in Salem, Or. So we are both in the Beautiful NW Pacific area. I have an recurring ear infection so am seeing the doctor today to get something so it won't delay my hand surgery next Monday. Went out last night with some of my girl friends. Had one drink, that's my limit and ate pasta , which is more carbs than i normally eat. I feel lousy today . Will eat very light today . This process of eating certain foods and not eating certain foods is an every learning process to me. But I'm happy to be on the journey and doing's well as I have. Last night the "girls" were telling me how great I looked and how much energy and I had. That made me feel great. I hope the day an week goes well for you and you are soon on the road to complete recovery. Take care. Tisha
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of one sweet lovely dog and joyful that you have found another. I too have had Lasha Apso's. Mine was a male called him Polo Bear. I had a female too , but she got jealous of Polo and would attack him. So gave her to my girlfriends mother. She lived the life of princess, she didn't want to share affection with another dog. We would go an see her and she was like queen of the house. I can't believe they can't control the infection. That is terrible. It's scares me at times when I know I have another procedure and the possibilities the something can happen. But I still have to make different corrections on broken parts of my body. I am going in on the 21st for reconstruction surgery on my left thumb. Had my right done. This might be the last thing I do. I was going to have a tummy tuck to remove loose skin, but I heard they are very painful and I'm not sure I want to go through such an operation. I wish you the best in the days to come. I will pray for you. Take care. Stay positive. Tisha
