Changing My Life

I'm a 54 year old grandma of two! who needs to lose weight for health reasons. I have always been over weight and have compulsive eating issues. I tend to over eat when I am happy, sad, for celebration, for comfort....etc. etc. I need a place like this to keep me motivated and hopefully help me lose this weight before it's too late.

I love nature..and love to walk, draw and paint outside. I also want to be around to teach my little grandsons all about the natural world ...

My Goals:
My goals are to eat healthy and lose weight and increase the quality and length of my life!

Goal Under 300--met Aug 11, 2008 -- 50 pounds gone!

60 lbs - Sept 24, 2008

Goal: 250 by 2/1/09

My Program:
I'm using the Weight Watchers Points program and the Spark guide for eating right now. It's a balanced meal plan and leaves my bad choices out! I am also walking for exercise and using a resistance band for strength training.

Personal Information:
I'm 54 years old, mother of two adults, living in the Northwoods of Wisconsin with the love of my life. I love to paint plein air...I paint in watercolors, oils, pastels. I try and maintain a sketchbook and my walks are great excuses for going out and drawing. Of late, I haven't been able to walk much, so my sketchbook has suffered.

UPDATE: I am walking more and don't get tired so easily. I actually made it through walking at a local festival without tiring! Yippeee!

I also love to do fiber arts...knitting, crochet, quilting. I am always busy.

My doctor: "One day you will come into the hospital, and we will not be able to fix you because of your weight."
