Journeying through my 40's and 50's caused many changes to my physical self--most crept in stealthily, most not positive changes! Having entered my 60's, stubborn Capricorn that I am, I'm digging in my heels and saying, "Enough!"

I enjoy the gentler arts--cooking, machine and hand sewing, gardening, piano, digital photography. And my four-footed "family" members--2 shelter cats, 2 Cavalier King Charles spaniels--give me constant reasons to smile. Yes, that's MY box turtle you see in the background!

My husband works halfway around the world from our little quarter acre here in Central Florida, so I'm having the late-in-life learning experience of being independent.

My Goals:
My goals are to learn more about nutrition, and replace high-fat and high-sodium meals with healthier choices. Aging brought a physical change to me; now I'm bringing some physical change to my age!


My Program:
The turtle personifies me: slowly and deliberately moving forward, pulling my head in when I feel threatened, intimidated or overwhelmed. But like the turtle that doesn't look behind (mine don't, anyhow), my eyes are forward on what's ahead on my journey.

I chose "nancyhome247" as my e-name when I retired. I worked hard to get to that place, and I'm proud of it! My journey is good!

I'm an "optimistic pessimist." --I expect the worst and am elated when the worst doesn't happen!

    Wow, I was just looking at my photos since I added a new one and discovered you had commented on one. I am so sorry I never thanked you for checking them out. Hope you are doing well. I am now on to replacing hips since the knees were done years ago. First hip will be the 22nd.

    Nancy Thank you for commenting on my first blog. It has not been really that hard for me to loose the weight. I usually eat the same thing everyday for breakfast and lunch and then switch it up for dinners. So it was a matter of time to find out what worked for breakfast and lunch and then start eating smaller portions and healthier meals for dinner. I had to find the "magic number". That number that would let the weight come off, and its not what SP reccommend. They are way too high for me to loose anything. I will keep on keeping on and eventually I will get there.

    Then staying there will be another issue! emoticon
