Just wondering if you've got your trip planned out yet --- your reward is coming up any day now!

So cool to see the "ticker" changed!

Thanks for the thoughtful comment on my blog - I really appreciate it, and have spent the morning checking out the thread you linked (as well as all of the links in that thread).

I think you may be right that the surgeon doesn't want to give me a "number" until he sees how my body responds (not to mention, whether I will continue to be compliant to his directions).

My usual thought is that you stop at the point where you feel happy and healthy, but I was happy back up at 220, and honestly don't know how to interpret "feeling healthy" with the issues that I have going on right now. I guess I'll just keep toodling along after the surgery until either my body, the surgeon, or the Man decide it's time to stop!

I know I'm going to have a hard time wrapping my head around going back in to weight-loss mode after "maintaining" for a month after the surgery, but hopefully something will click in my head by then to give me the impetus.

Thanks again ---- and oooooh, I'm still grinnin' seeing you getting so close to your goal!

Thanks so much for the turkey and the Thanksgiving wishes!

We went to the Man's sister's place for a traditional dinner with some healthier twists: turkey (w/ dressing and gravy), plain baked potatoes, baked butternut squash w/ sweet potato, brussels sprouts, and a choice of pumpkin or apple pie. It was really good, but I had to laugh because his sis is supposed to be the "non-traditional" one, while last year at his Mom's (the "traditional" one) we had trout!

Your lentil/barley stew went over so well that it's guaranteed a spot in the "regular rotation", and the Man loved the butternut/sweet potato soup (I wasn't a fan, I'm afraid: the taste is ok, but I've never learned to like that kind of texture, and don't like anything mashed or pureed). Next up is to create a beef/barley/lentil/?? soup... I'll let you know how it goes!

Hope you are having a great weekend, and that you are done with the leaves for this year!

Just had to pop by to say "hi" and wish you a happy Wednesday!

I'm still dying to know how the "broccoli and garbanzo bean experiment" went... (you called it that just to drive my curiousity wild, didn't you?!?)

Have the great day that you deserve!

Thanks for dropping by the blog, and for "getting" it!

It honestly never occurred to me that trying on clothes could be a "happy" thing --- it's always just been something that had to be done, kinda like flossing your teeth or taking out the garbage... I knew which stores had my size and the styles that suit me, so I'd walk in, grab my rack full of stuff, try them on to make sure they fit, and be good for the next year or two..

The initial realization that it fit was mind-boggling enough - I'm still not sure I can wrap my head around the idea of being even smaller. I haven't been this weight since I was about 12 years old, and it's going to take some serious time to get used to this.

And, of course, the Man had a good laugh in forcing me to "see" what he'd been seeing - that I really *am* much smaller than what I ever expected.

Who knew losing weight could make me not just girly - but happy about it?!?

Hope you have a great week!

PS - How was lunch? Share the recipe if it was good!
