I started on this journey to getting healthier two weeks before I found SparkPeople.com and I did well, but I wanted to be able to track my food when not at home, on my Droid X phone. The plan I started on was similar and worked on my iPod, but not on my Android. I like the SparkPeople, made changes to the amount of calories per day and percentage of protein, carbs & fat as well as fiber. I plan on following this journey as long as possible. I've said forever in the past, but now I'm just taking one day at a time. I've got a long way to go, so one day, this day, is all that matters. To heck with Prednisone, it's a tiny pill that can't defeat me!
My goals are to get healthier by eating better foods, trying to move the bod as much as possible without causing injury and to take one day at a time and to not really look at the end, because that would be too overwhelming.
I am tracking my food each day. I started 2 weeks before I found this site, lost 7 lbs. the first week of mostly water as I was bloated. The 2nd week I lost 2 lbs. If I could average 2 lbs. a week, I'd be thrilled. I don't want to be overwhelmed that I become afraid that I won't succeed. I have to redefine success each day perhaps. We'll see what happens.
Long, long time ago, I was an RN, but when 27 I had a stroke and multiple other health problems. My girls were little and it was difficult on them as it was on my husband. Now, I'm on disability due to Lupus and a few other autoimmune disorders which cause pain and stuff you don't need to know. When I weighed 130 lbs. I thought I was fat. Wow, how I wish I was that fat again. LOL. Now, I'm a grandma with 2 beautiful grandbabies and that is just wonderful! Frankly, I didn't think I'd live to see this day, so it's time I get in shape so I can be alive and happy as they grow up!
Good, better, best.
Never let them rest. Until your good is better and your better, best.
