My name is Sue. I married last year after being a widow for over 35 years. I moved here from Massachusetts and have lived in the same house in Dunellen, NJ for 35 years. I have 3 grown children & 6 beautiful grandchildren.
Yep! We love our furbaby. We got him when he was 8 month old. He had been neglected and kept in a cage. He was wild as a buck deer for about 3 years. He would bully our other two dogs. They have pasted away since. He was always afraid of not getting enough food and ate paper, socks, and even money. He was destructive. We just kept loving him and working with him. The oldest dog and the alpha helped with him, too. She set some rules for him real fast and applied snapping at his heels if he disobeyed her. LOL Finally, he came around. The only thing we haven't been able to help him overcome is abandonment issues. He freaks out if we leave him in the house alone for even two minutes. He start howling and will scratch the door. He is the sweetest dog now. He is an only child now that the other two dogs passed away. He is almost 14 years old. He has problems with his knees and hips. We bought him a nice set of steps to climb up into the SUV. He is a little scared of them yet. He will get it. We took him on his first real vacation to the beach and just got back. He loved it. So many folks stopped us and wanted to pet him. He loves the attention. He was glad to come home, though. He has been napping all evening by our feet. He is my walking buddy. He loves adventures. Sniffs everything and goes up to everyone. Some people get nervous, because they think he is a wolf. LOL His name is Chaos. We didn't name him, his first owner did. She said he was so destructive that is why she called him that. She left him caged for days without food and water. He would dig up carpet or pull himself around through his cage looking for anything to eat. The owner was only 20 and never had a dog before. She thought it was ok to leave him alone for days. Poor little fellow. It took a lot of love and time for him to see he was ok and we would take care of him. The girl approached me at work and ask if I needed another dog, that she couldn't take care of him anymore and was tired of cleaning up after him. She didn't tell me everything until after we started having problems with him. I ask her about it. She confessed everything. She wanted to know if I was bringing he back to her. I said no of course not. I told her I thanked her for being honest about everything. I said I knew now what I was dealing with and could help him. We love him so much. He has been such a wonderful companion and our baby, too. We spoil him as much as we can. lol He is a very happy dog. Does Rocky have blue eyes, too? Don't you love the blue eyes.
The leaves are changing here...it was very windy & rainy the other day and a lot of leaves fell off the trees. If it doesn't rain this weekend, we might go to a park & hopefully there will be some color to see.
