connor april 08
me, my daughter Nikki and grand daughter Mackenzie Thanksgiving 06
This year is going to be all about doing what's best for me. After a complicated several months because of health issues, I've learned how much appreciation and respect my life deserves, and this is the year I will begin to concentrate on just that.
Unfortunately I gained back 20 of the 35lbs I had lost, but I've re-shed 6.5 of those so far, and its just the beginning :) It isnt a matter of reaching the number on the scale anymore, its about being as healthy as I can, and as happy as I can. That, and the love of my family with friends is really all that matters in life anyway, isnt it?
I know that each of us can reach our life's greatest potential, with the Grace that God gives us, and with the love and friendships that sustain us :)
My goals are to lose the 35lbs, gain more muscle and tone up, and live more true to who I really am. I want this to be a permanent change, I want the 2nd half of my life to be the best ever. After finally learning how to focus on myself and my own well being.
Now that I've gotten closer to my goal, Ive slacked some on the exercise but still trying to get 30 mins a day in, plus some strength training. I'm still conscious of what I eat/drink after a year here, but not as strict with myself.
My name is JoAnn, Jo for short, I live in west-central Illinois with my cocker spaniel Rusty (aka red mutt) My daugter is 24 and is an RN, a fine young woman..and her little daughter is 3 years old (my Kenzie-bear) And her little Connor was born Jan 25th 08!
I love animals of all kinds, and being in nature, gardening, fishing,camping..just hate coming home! I thank God for giving me the life I have and for helping me stay motivated to make it the best I possibly can. I hope that others here are half as happy as I am.
